3:47 — NO… Colonel Davis did NOT “take over command” at Freeman Field. The 477th had two of its four squadrons inactivated and the other two reassigned to Godman Field. They were joined by the 99th Fighter Squadron. The group was renamed the 477th Composite Group. THAT is the unit Colonel Davis was assigned to command.
you gentlemen inspired me to go on in the fire service when I had to meet the challenges of racism!
it is there too sadly, but you certainly blazed the trail for better day. gratitudes
They got my respect God bless them Heroes thank God bless all the unsung heroes but nobody hears about when they were only Cooks instill managed to fight when I was young I meant a black man that was a cook in Korea and when the Chinese overrun his base operations he fought hand-to-hand with Chinese soldiers and showed me where he got ripped open with a Bayonet in my eyes he was a hero even though he was only a cook
God will reward these men for their honor and courage. Learn about these amazing men who made it happen for America. May God bless their families.
There is a move called the Tuskegee Airmen on Netflix
I remember when I was a kid. My dad is a history nut. One of the first things he tought me was the Tuskegee Airmen. I remember I couldn’t imagine why people treated other people like that. Brave people in those aircraft.
Great vid
Proud to a Black United States American Veteran. Thank you for paving the way and allowing us all to dream the impossible dream.
Every man in that squadron was a hero. But they never got the recognition they deserved, they saved countless lives and and did it without being recognized for their heroism until just recently , and that is shameful! I’m a 67 year old white woman, but color should not be a factor. These men are American heroes , the best of American heroes! God bless all!
Those fellas earned full respect. Glad they got it. Sorry that southern America treated minorities like filth for all too long. Their sour attitude was the filth.
ZZzz zZZ ZZ zZZZ. ZzZz ZZzz
LOL, now their ancestors are begging or down right angry to get the Covid experimental drug and booster.
🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
I’m a white American and discrimination is just simply stupid. These black servicemen returned to a country they hoped would treat them equally like everyone else but no they didn’t get that. They were still seen as inferior. Even today racism is still a problem here in the US. not as bad as back then but still a problem
Thank you
“Fight for equality?!” BULL 💩… THEY WERE FIGHTING FOR OUR SURVIVAL!!
Many Americans have family who are defendants of the TUSKEGEE AIRMEN and so many others who paved the way and gave their lives. I am a 5th generation of military servicemen and women
Some of the most patriotic American to ever wear the uniforms of the United States Army Air Corp. They fought the enemy abroad and at home. After returning home they found that their pledge and service to freedom for Europe would have to be continued at home. Therefore tearing down the barriers of Jim Crow segregation, hate and exclusion. We thank them for their service to country, their people and their communities.
