Often in our reviews the question is “Is this thing good?”, but for the Apple Fitness+ review the real question becomes “Who is it good for?”. Four Verge staffers spent months exercising with Apple’s latest service to see how it compares to others like Peloton and if it’s worth your money.

What tech do you use for your workout?
Ive Gotta say this is such a well done video, production value is huge, all the different viewpoints and honest opinions really made this video great. Thanks for such a good video to watch!
Great review
I love Fitness+
Alternate title: Peloton Commercial
Little update on this but you can now stream from your macbook by using airplay on your phone. Still a little clunky. You should be able to download the app to your macbook directly
It is available through a MacBook, just AirPlay to it.
I am working on my own On Demand Fitness Platform now so I am checking on competition 🙂 Great video! Thanks
“Because I’m a month long peloton user…”
I haven’t tried this yet but I have an Apple Watch, iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, air pods and iMac so I have the ecosystem. I am looking to trial this so I can give up my gym membership.
That’s the same price as planet fitness
Why would one not just answer the call on their watch? Why switch to the phone if the watch can take it?
Just use AirPlay to stream to your MacBook if your screen is so small.
Get it the point
I know this is old, but worth a mention that the Apple Watch isn’t required for most workouts. You just don’t get the integrated metrics.
You have to sink a lot of money into a Peloton, whereas Apple Fitness+ has a lower cost of entry because it uses a lot of the devices you already have. Apple Fitness+ seems more for the everyday folks that have an iPhone (who doesn’t?) and an Apple Watch that want to be more healthy. 🤷♂️
Love how the video was created.
What is a peloton?
So its basically just videos of someone working out that your suppose to follow and copy. That you can find for free on youtube….
No Apple TV ? Plug your iPhone into your tv/monitor
I signed up for Apple Fitness+ and really like it. I do treadmill, HIIT, and am about to buy a rowing machine. I like the way it game-ifies my fitness time, and I am try to complete all the treadmill workouts, which might take me another year. Definitely good, if you’ve got Apple devices.
A Fran walking tour of New York would be hilariously depressing 😂
Excellent, thank you, very helpful.
I only bike ride so this service is not for me I use Samsung health app it’s free and you don’t need a watch and yes it works on i0s
Lost me at Apple Watch another added cost and monthly expense
there are more videos about fitness on youtube than on fitness plus
the problem about Apple is the ecosystem.…and cultish issues. They make enjoying good apps a pain. I like different products from different companies and Apple makes it hell for that type of person. Join the cult or we don’t want you
Is there a way to use the app without having to connect to Wifi on my phone?
Whenever I go to the gym I get injured and basically have to skip a months of exercise, but with the proper techniques and warmups of Apple, it all comes together nicely! Not perfect, but great for techies! 8/10
a funny bunch of pretentious apple simps
Now Apple fitness has become better and more fun to do workouts. I’m a beginner and their workouts are helping me achieve my fitness goals, I’m halfway through and I’m seeing results already. 🙌🏻
Highly recommend it, and you don’t need an Apple Watch anymore to start working out.
Correction: You do not need an Apple Watch to use Fitness+. You can just use your phone, but a Apple Watch would be a nice addition to your experience
2 years later, no changes
I got a trial with my Apple Watch ultra. I have still yet to use it. I already use NRC for runs and the workout app to track strength training at the gym.
Uhm… why was she restricted to using her phone? I display my workouts on my 65” smart TV
