The second-generation $100 Nest Hub resembles its predecessor, but a new Soli chip can keep track as you toss and turn throughout the night. The new Nest Hub also has light, sound and temperature sensors to take several factors into account that might affect your sleep. The motion-sensing Soli chip uses radar instead of a camera and allows the new Nest Hub to respond to your gestures.

1:00 I don’t like this vague explanation. Is it sending some waves that bounce of me and go back to the device — like a normal radar? In such case: Is it a good idea to be exposed to those waves the entire night — every night? I’m not sure. Or maybe it’s just listening for the ambient noise and trying to figure out something just based on that? In such case I doubt it’s effective. But you lost me at the word “subscription” anyway.
The Stupid Government Wants all the info on every one its STUPID RIDICULOUS.
So in this vlog the CNET guy is telling us google promises not to track us on the new nest hub. Then they release there next vlog and tell us google can not be trusted even in incognito mode. So CNET which is it?
Don’t care about sleeping, what is more important is the improved sound quality & virtually not talked about THREAD Hub the replacement of Zigbee.
2:08 pinky promise?
exactly what I want, google to track me while I’m awake and asleep. lol…
Sleep sense is paid by subscription
No thanks, Google. You already get enough of my life for free.
What else is new? Seems like they didn’t change much.
I seen the batman movie I know what they are doing lol
Oh what I would love is for the devices to track where you are inside the house to move audio between rooms. I could see this great sleep tracking technology also see when you’ve left the room and are now closer to another speaker and it could pause and resume or blend the audio into a new room and watch for habits like do you go to the bathroom for three seconds and then leave the bathroom back to the bedroom for 20 minutes. If so it could help anticipate where that audio should be piped.
Your sleep info is sent to the clouds.
It only a matter of time for then to start sending people Ro, and Hims.
I don’t want Google knowing about my Sleep Patterns. I will not be buying this trash product.
This may save my budget for any special wristbands to do the same. Any progress on fitness can be checked easily while watching a weather forecast.
Year: 2100
Phenomenon: The technological devices literally control everyone’s lives 24/7
No on paying.
I know many people may be turned off by the subscription, but I am personally on board. I would rather pay for a service than the service selling my sensitive data.
It’s really funny how many people want sleep/fitness tracking without being tracked by a company 😂
I would trade 20 years of my life for a quality sleep. Privacy is no matter at all.
I spend about 10 waking minutes in my bed area per day. To dedicate a nest display to this area would be just a waste, unless I bought this device solely for the sleep tracking
Interesting. I didn’t know about this new Google device. I didn’t know about Google Fit either.
I was really expecting a redesign..
I bet they will you how many times you passed wind 🌬 👎🤦♀️
It’s a cool feature I guess but if I can find a Gen1 for less than $60.00 The sleep feature is not enough to justify me spending the extra money.
now if the local device can still show the clock when internet is down and handle a few basic things locally I’d pay the extra for that:
Just when you thought that your phone was enough to spy on you
A healthy dose of emf’s washing over you while you sleep
Who even needs santa clause anymore?
Not going to use any data to sell you ads 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its a device which tracks movement using the soli radar, doesn’t have a camera, audio and other processing done locally — and people are still complaining about privacy (what privacy exactly are you losing?) while most people sleep next to their phones/smartwatch. This looks like a great product
Does it needs an Android phone to operate?
It’s not cool at all when you realize that data will be sold to other companies. This implicates everyone knowing when you sleep and potential danger for your safety. USE YOUR BRAIN
Enjoyed the video, not sure I want or would buy the device just for sleep tracking
Soli radar to track your sleep. Really. That’s the same radar that couldn’t understand simple gestures on the pixel 4 and everyone turned the option off. Wonder what will happen 🤔
Will it also hear/sense ‘other’ things going on in the bed
Does it work on the old nest hub or do I have to get the new one
So if you’re not sleeping well Google will show you ads for some sleeping pills
You have to sign into your account on your nest hub. But what if everyone in the house want to use and control lights , thermostat and view door bell camera alerts? How do you manage the sign ID if you are sharing the nest hub?
An absolute gimmick, but on the bright side I know how much my dog sleeps.
I wouldn’t even buy this junk. I bet Google abuses our sleep data as well.
