The OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 are here. There’s a new screen, faster wireless charging, and big claims about the camera partnership with Hasselblad. Can it all measure up against the Galaxy S21 lineup? In this review, Dieter Bohn and Allison Johnson put each smartphone to the test.

#OnePlus #Pro #review
Do you think the Pro is worth the extra cost?
Thats why i switched after 10 years of android to the iphone. For that price, you just get more with an iphone.
No OIS? How is it gonna do good low light photos. Such an expensive phone should include” basic features” expected at that “price point”.
I’ve watched several reviews of this phone and I have to say that the camera is just not good. When I see the comparisons, there is some weird processing going on with the OnePlus that I really don’t like. Seems like they did too much. Sometimes less is more. I feel like OnePlus’ move to market this as the amazing camera phone will just boost Samsung’s sales when people realize that S21 Ultra is even better than this.
Samsung has employed the bots strong this year
65W fast charging out the box. Awesome. … Funny how this is a differentiator nowadays.
Watching on OnePlus 9 pro 😀
iPhone §E
Verge, you people are sick.
I’ve you’re tired of Samsung’s massive bloatware, this is the phone.
Screw with confidence 🤣🤣🤣
What if I just watch YouTube really and text and a little social media world the battery last me this is the only question I have that’s keeping me a little concerned if so I’ll be switching from a s20 ultra
Where is this widget drawer setting? I have op8 but with oxygen 11 but don’t see that?
The yearly advancements in smart phones is amazing.
But I’m always grinding my teeth at what the manufactures miss.
I am referring to features that could of (and should of) been many added years ago:
#1: Put cameras at each end of the phone to take 3D stereoscopic photos.
#2: Allow easy removal of all bloatware.
#3: Multiple phone numbers ‘with a standardized software interface’ via dual-SIMs, eSIMs & SIP.
…I am sure many are yelling “these have already been added!!!” Hmm yes; but…
…dual-SIMs are nearly non-existent in USA, and I am also referring dual-active-SIMs support.
…SIP protocol was added early in Android OS; but buggy. Since then it was hidden, rather than fixed.
…also SIP needed it own dialer app; rather than a clean integration with the phone.
#4: Allow root access. Lack of root access has led to ‘rooting’; which is a far worse animal!
…obviously manufacturers and carriers do not this, do to either warranty or customer support concerns.
…but rather than encrypting the flash drive and disable writing the bootloader;
…I would have preferred a button-combo to restore the bootloader from ROM; which would then allow restoring the factory OS.
…(P.S. I would fine with signing away warranty and support in exchange for a ‘root’ password)
(I’ll shut up now)

The non Telekom phones might not have an ip86 rating, but they are the exacty same. A rating costs, so it might’ve just come down to what they would’ve paid more in the end.
This phone is extremelly buggie. Why you don’t inform viewers?
Wait for the updates this will all change
The oneplus 9 has allot more screen on time than the pro, and will only get better
Oneplus 9 pro seems a much better value for money smartphone as compared to Samsung S21 Ultra.Oneplus 9 pro camera looks decent enough plus you still don’t have to spend $1000+ like in the case of Samsung S21 Ultra or iPhone Pro max.
OnePlus doesn’t have the same brand value as samsung or apple. So for OP to charge a $1000 is a bit absurd
Glory be to Apple for making 1000$ the new norm!
Hey guys, can we have the camera comparison between iPhone 12 & OnePlus 9Pro
There is something that is just better about oneplus than the android alternatives. I got a galaxy note 20 5G ultra, and i’m selling it to go back to my old oneplus 7 pro while i wait for this 9 pro to ship. it’s just a better phone due to the overall experience.
My experience is that OnePlus purposely made the 9 feel “cheap” in order to push people towards the Pro.
I owned both phones and only the Pro is greater than the sum of its parts. Having said that I think a fair price for it would be $850 at most, with the standard 9 being $600.
It’s strange that the first comparison taxi photo has more details on the one from oneplus 9 than the 9 pro image. Look at the text of the left side yellow board. The texts are sharp and crisp on the image from 9. What’s going on? May be the 9 pro was shaky at the time of capture. Or what? 9 pro still has an OIS though. So, something crazy is going on.
Disagree, the 9 camera is way worse without the OIS.
Such a gorgeous phone ruing by android OS
The OnePlus 9 Pro I just order one. My carrier is AT&T so the 5G will not work on this phone? I have the unlocked version Will it work on AT&T at all?
The 10 Pro seems to be a better deal, OnePlus has improved a bit
Verge reviews are so much better than any other reviewers!
I want Dieter Bohn at The Verge again . Where is he ?
