The content is good, the hair is glorious! Welcome back, Ry! It’s been too long!
Did u try restarting your modem? Lol
use Fresh Tomato or DDWRT your better off this way until they fix wifi 6 advertised speeds.
I’m still using 2 old Netgear R7000 routers with a modded Asus Merlin XWRT firmware. I’m linking them via wired AI Mesh connection. I’m not upgrading until WiFi 6e and at least 5gbps switches become more prevalent.
Reminds me of the dude from the BeeGees
I’ll replace it when dong Ngo does
How come you “reboot” wifi-drivers, and then test on a wired connection? This makes no sense
Easiest way to tell is when you pay for 500meg download and you get that with a direct connection, but your router is only capable of moving 100 megs.
Is there anything one should do with the old or out dated router before tossing out or giving away? Any security concerns or other issues to consider? Thx.
No it’s time to change my residence place, because my ISP can provide maximum 25mbs and I just can pay for 4mbs.
No need replacing if you use a fibre connection
My router stops broadcasting wifi every few days. The weird thing is that all other routers on the same channel also stop broadcasting according to my wifi analyzer.
Where’s Dong Ngo?
I have R7000 and max download speed on 5Ghz i get 620mbps
I’d wait for a WiFi 6e router since they’re right around the corner.
Reset your Wi-Fi adapter on your computer, then proceed to bypass it completely using an Ethernet connection
Happen to me, I’m pay 80 bucks for 400mb and only got 100mb because of my router until I bought a recent one with wifi 6
I bought a Orbi mesh system about 6 months ago and I am supposed to get 1G when plugged in which is close when I test on my laptop. Wifi is another story. With over 40 devices in my home connected wifi I can only get about 700 Mbps when I am sitting 3 feet away from my router. Most people tell me that is very good but knowing I’m paying for 1G speed I would like wifi to be closer to 900 Mbps if possible.
I only get new routers when my internet speeds surpass the router standard. That’s why I am still, and will be for quite some time, on 802.11n
Coul it be the routers problem for delayed notification when im connected to my wifi it delays but when i connect to someone else’s wifi it works fine
mine is 3mps
lol my router is 14 years old.…
I have had my router for 11 years 😭 until today it has giving me problems
Planned obsolescence 😮
Frequent loss of Internet Connection
It used to be, buy a new one when it breaks. Now it’s 5 years, shortly it will be every 6 months, then you better just rent
Question: Why not just use your shower for taking showers? Why do you need to stay connected to the Internet while cleaning your armpits? What’s the rush? Enjoy the shower; dry off, and then enjoy your social media.
The best option is to have a router in AP mode and connected by ethernet to your main router. Mesh routers use the fastest channels over wifi for back end data. So client devices get the slower channels.
Wifi 7 is now the standard by the way.
Most premium routers support older wifi standards. WPA3 is nice but older devices will not be able to use it. So you may have to set a frequency up for WPA2. Such as your 2.4Ghz channels. Some have 2 5GHz bands and you can set one for WPA2 and one for WPA3. Seperate SSIDs would be needed to allow you to select the different band for the older devices.
Routers are at the point where you don’t need to upgrade unless they fail or don’t meet your needs. Unless you have a server or gigabit internet access, at most you need a mesh router in a larger home. I put in Google mesh routers in all my family’s homes it has been almost a decade and still no need to upgrade. I have multiple printers and outdoor security cameras hooked up with no problems.
It works like shi wifi 6 and the old one thar s like 5 years old work too good
