Amazing bravery!
My father told me that the first time he seen one flying over when he was in Vietnam that he thought they looked like a flying F’ing tank. lol
Top gun f‑14 !
I love fighter jets they are awsom,
Olds is 101 years old now.…that’s crazy.….
I amazes me how old was able to adapt to flying high speed jets and missiles which is a massive leap compared to flying mustangs and lighnings
Do the bloodiest day in Vietnam may 10th 1972
Great list! Whoever produced it; thank you. It’s sad how little, people are aware of the intensity of yesterday. They think history is far away. Unfortunately-as we all can see- they’re wrong!
Thanks again! Keep thinking. Keep speaking! Keep shining bright like we always do!
(Apologize for the dramatic ending. Just sounded too cool to not type)🎉
Read his memoir “fighter pilot”. You get to feel like his wing man from his p38 and p51 in ww2 to his f4 phantom days in Vietnam.
Boy imagine if Colonel Olds and his squadrons back then had the F4Es with the nose mounted Gatlings
Y al final .…. Quien logró la superioridad área en Vietnam? .….( Pues finalmente perdieron esa guerra .….)
“Where he came from I had no idea” absolutly killed me. Imagine being in that situation and all the sudden turning and seeing one random ally in a p‑51😂
LBJ & McNamara were the greatest assets the North Vietnamese had. They should have been arrested for treason.

Growling sidewinder.
~°¿°~ True Stories Ripper ta Shreds
N. Vietnam was looking like swiss cheese
Could you imagine going from a p38 to a f4e like wtf 🤯 it’s like going from high school to the pros and you average 😂 that’d be like learning how to play baseball for 4 years then signing up to play football 😂 ☠️
Thank you General Olds. Service in WWII and Vietnam. Has 2 or three episodes I’ve seen that features him on this series, tells you something about his service.
As a child in 2007 coming home from school yes i would watch some Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon…but this show was by far the highlight of my afterschool leisure
Vietnam is the perfect example of what happens when politicians are allowed to micromanage military ops!
Outstanding 👍🇺🇸
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤
If the armed forces were allowed to do what they needed to do. Vietnam would have been a lot different. A crushing defeat of the North. Nothing more, Nothing less
The American pilot knows the power of Reverse Psychology that certainly worked out & works all the time , a man who knows his powers !
His ship is on static display, looking parade slick, wearing his 3 kills.
Even without a gun as the 4E’s he was lethal.
He did not listen to the Contractors and the Brochure pitchmen, and kept flying the plane, showing everyone else that they had to fly the planes.
Now I hit the bunk with an F4E 100 yards from me, almost in the driveway. (non operational, but in tact)
26:40 thats a CERTIFIED SPARROW MOMENT
Not only did they splash all those migs but the psychological aspect of it was probably more devastating
Oldes was breathtakingly cool.
I remember seeing this many years ago 2006 2007 and let me tell you Robin Olds that’s my guy that is My main man 100 grand I wish I could’ve met him in person like I did the two Tuskegee airman, the original, gruesome threesome, lieutenant colonel, Charles, McGee, and Lieutenant Colonel Lee Archer.
And of ofcourse once we left.. Vietnam and Cambodia fell to communism. Both going thru mass genocide of their own ppl like all communist regimes do. In Cambodia it was the khmer Rouge… ran by Pol Pot
Fat Electrician, anyone?
