The best demo at Apple’s WWDC 2021 was Universal Control, a feature that lets you use your Mac’s keyboard on an iPad and even a second Mac. It’s a very clever little feature, but it is built on years of small iPad improvements.

What was your favorite feature announced at WWDC?
Why do I need this?
This is going to turn into 3D touch or the light bar
It’s the same feature that we can find on Huawei ecosystem. But in that case, we have Android and Windows. So, I think it’s not so wonderful and powerful like you can imagine
I love your videos The Verge 💖💖
Clearly Dieter has never heard of ‘logitech flow’
Apple does it all the time, think of unlocking your iPhone when wearing a mask using face ID
i mean yeah its cool, but youre getting far to excited, windows remote desktop has this and hardware passthrough and doesn’t require you to use the physical hardware
Dudes, MICROSOFT GARAGE MOUSE WITHOUT BORDERS has existed for years, it’s developed by Microsoft and it’s free. It works flawlessly to share one mouse and keyboard across up to 4 devices. The same principle, move the mouse to the edge of the screen and it goes to the next machine. Also shared clipboard and copy/pasting files up to 100MB. Setup is really easy, install on machines, select on one NO and on other Yes and input the machine name and key. And easy peasy, use it.
Enlighten me how this universal control differs from Logitech Hub? It works with multiple devices just as well 🤷♂️
Apple finally introduces Without Borders
I have only now realized that Dieter tilts his head to the side and squint while emphasizing something just like the Verge reporter who resembles a budget Anthony Fantano
Dieter is a joy to review thech news with. I was blown away by how smooth and seamless the universal control demo was 👀
Logitech has been doing this functionality under “Flow Control” for the past 3 years basically. Across Mac and Windows.
Look at all the things u have learnt in your life and take a step nack from them, and think about how u could use those skills in newer, clever ways. You might surprise yourself.
That’s pretty good advice
Great video! Love the final thought.
I’m gonna respond every time I hear people complain: Dieter why do you want touchscreen on a Mac? Really, why?
God bless Dr IGUDIA on YouTube who cured me from herpes with his effective herbal products. I will forever be grateful sir.
I’ve been an Apple fan since the 80s and.. for the love of god.. I have no idea what people want Apple to do with the iPad. Final Cut? Xcode? Both of those experiences would be WORSE on the iPad. I know they will come to light one day, but I’m not really hearing any GOOD ideas about what Apple should do with the iPad. Those Pro features sound incredibly niche — as those same users have very powerful Macs ….
This feature(Universal control) is not like something which Apple does. Apple basically perfects a feature before it launches it but this looks a lot like a gimmick which is based on luck and a huge assumption
This is a classic example of Apple fan hysteria. Over hyping something Apple has copied that’s been available on Windows for some time. Logitech anyone..?
How do you get your invoices find me a mail on to PDF on the iPad
Let mac be mac, iPad be iPad. This is great for me.
you mean like what I can do with my Logitech devices?
I appreciate that final question you asked.
8+ minutes of blah blah for 30 seconds of information.

Dieter is the best thing about this channel
4 months later I’m still waiting for this feature, wondering why they even bothered announcing it then…
Annoys me and a lot of people that the only reason why there hasn’t been a MacBook with a touchscreen is due to the iPad. It’s like I don’t need another device. Just charge double for the touchscreen MacBook. Have it be dual boot and be able to switch from full Mac OS to iPad OS seamlessly when you need to caress it.
A bright mind once said : “Look at all the things that you’ve learn in your life. Take a step back from them, and think about how you could use those skills in newer, clever ways. You might surprise yourself.”
Thank you Sir
