There has been a great renaissance in garbage collection technology in the past 10 years and Mr. Trash Wheel is one of the pioneers, collecting over 3 million pounds of trash in Baltimore, Maryland. An old technology becomes new again and is changing the landscape of the beautiful inner harbor.

There must be a way to incorporate these machines into the landscape, I honestly think this is one of the best inventions of my time. Always always wanted to see someone take on the water trash situation as in England it just washes out to see or gets caught up on dry land after flooding
John: You see that trash?
Baltimore: Yes…
John: I don’t want to
Baltimore: …
John: Imma build a wheel
Do you have permission to do this
What is done with the garbage once it is collected?
so the ocean cleanup interceptor is just a copy? hmm…
Amazing!!!
5:34 So years ago they could have parked one of these at the same spot the trash wheel is located…
It is a great device.…the sad thing is people treat Balt inner harbor as a trash can
Well who put the garbage there in the first place? This is all good and fine but until you solve the underlying issue the garbage will be right back
We wouldn’t need them if everyone discarded all their waste properly. Alot more than plastic goes in waterways but sinks or contaminates. Thanks for your efforts.
Every river in China and India should have a hundred of these systems installed ASAP
This is similar to the design of a fish wheel.
TURN MR TRASH LOOSE ON OUR GOVERNMENT ‼️‼️‼️
vary cool dude
Don’t bother educating the trash people around Baltimore that dump all the litter on the ground. Beautiful harbor? It’s a barren concrete pit
what is the time line for this vrs boyan slat?
I’ll still feel bad when I see drivers throw trash out their windows.
Its a great idea and i am 100 percent on board with it, but i have seen similar schemes in other parts of the world, where the
trash gets scooped up and goes to landfill, which is less than ideal. I read elsewhere that trash collected by Baltimore’s Mr. Trash Wheel is incinerated to generate electricity, but not every country does that,I guess its a money issue?
Genous
I hope they treat the water that goes back to the sea
Thank God there are people that care
It’s saddening to see that he had to partner with an NGO who funded this idea, while the city of Baltimore who was open to ideas on how to reduce trash, couldn’t care less.
They should also show what really happens to all this trash, are they recycling it, or just dumping it somewhere else
I hope Mr. Kellett is getting “filthy rich” from this.……
