Appreciated the wind power propeller on the front, they promote that tiny windmill now like its new and fancy for climate change
nice
I loved this show, but I can’t help but think the person uploading this has no idea how video titles work. Since it’s not about… you know… submarines
Edit: yes I know about the Japanese piloted torpedo, but that’s not submarine warfare. It’s just an underwater kamikaze, not u‑boat warfare
If a Kennedy is involved it will fail.
The aircraft actually ejected its takeoff dolly rather than its landing dolly. Just a nitnoid comment 🙂
Hey history channel can you please do some more of the dogfight series on season 2
Thank you for this well done documentary. I knew Joe Kennedy died but had no idea he was such a good pilot and this was so top secret.
The History Channel is hilarious garbage these days. Aliens and pawn stores. You kiddin’ brah?
This is back when history channel was actually good and about history, between this, Shootout, Battle 360, Patton 360 and Modern Marvels it was awesome! Now it’s crappy Pawn Stars and aliens and nothing anybody cares about.
subs launching subs
Why does the title talk about someone warfare? Sure, a sub is involved but it’s not the focus of the episode lol
He almost took out the enemy airplane with his dropped fuel canisters, that would have been legendary
Raketen-Flug
the ultimate rollercoaster
Funny to hear a turbine windup on the show for a rocket propelled plane.
Scary. Imagine a fleet of these lifting off and picking off 1 or 2 apiece.
I love this show. That and battle 360 and Patton 360. They’re great! I have to agree with everyone I wish the history channel still had stuff like this instead of those reality shows they air nowadays. My only complaint, about this show. Is I wish it all focused entirely on WWII aircraft and dog fights. I love the WWII warbirds. I do not care much for the newer aircraft nowadays. Anything after 1949 I loose interest. But then again, I’m a big WWII history nerd.
History channel, bring stuff like this back! More documentaries and less trashy reality shows.
Truly amazing worksmamship bring alive amazing German engineering. Sure glad Eisenhower’s guys nabbed slot of them and brought them to the USA.
Mustangs shot these things into Mitsubishi meat. They had to glide down, with no fuel, making them sitting ducks.
Whomever wrote the title for this did a very, very poor job. The History Channel should retitle this “Wonder Weapons of WW2” or something to that effect. I thought it was about normal submarine warfare of WW2.
It’s sad History doesn’t make shows like this and Enterprise 360 anymore
This is the best TV show and nobody can change my mind
this is amazing on shrooms!!!
The ME 163 wasn’t terrifying to only the bomber crews, it was equally terrifying to fly!
No that you are signing vehicles like a famous person, all you need to do is open an OF account like Lite Brite… LOL 😂
Wow
When they dropped their landing gear I wonder how far they rolled and if they had a plan for catching those. I’m picturing that video of a wheel rolling down a mountain road.
I wonder what type of “HISTORY” is taught in schools now????
.
If it weren’t for the suicidal powerplant, the Komet seems like it would actually be a pretty enjoyable plane to fly, and not just for its raw rate of climb: supposedly, it was near impossible to accidentally spin the aircraft, and while the lower aspect ratio wing would give it a far poorer glide slope than a modern sailplane, it would still be incredibly clean for a plane starting its glide near 600 miles an hour
The sub pilot was happy about what he did wasnt he.
1:03
39:21 Interestingly enough one of the DeHavilland Mosquitos had none other than FDR’s son Elliott Roosevelt riding as passenger. Weird how Dogfights ignored this.
I gave up cable because I couldn’t watch this.
Nothing to do with submarines
I still think that the Kai10 is one of the most interesting stories that history channel has ever covered…just…wow
Always precented nicely
It seems the ME 163 pilots could do without climbing to 30.000 feet, it would save lots of fuel to hold off on all that altitude.
Just attack at normal bomber level, and have heaps of fuel left to safely get home.
The Me163 was about as deadly to the pilots as the B‑17 gunners. The Hydrogen-Peroxide fuel could dissolve flesh, and the engines were prone to explode, but a very good concept.
I miss the History Channel. When History stood for history.
How about fixing the label of this video? It is not just about subs but WWII Luftwaffe ‘Komets’ and allied fighters.
GRATE SHOWZ MIZTROZ‼️ YA👌
Why did history stop these shows! They should change the name of the channel at this point
Upon revisiting this episode & considering the death of John F Kennedy’s older brother, it really tends to make you stop & wonder “WHAT IF???” Cuz if the eldest of the Kennedy brothers had lived maybe he would have ran for President & been elected & then maybe he would have NOT been assassinated like JFK or maybe JFK would have been the Vice-President and so killing one would only mean his brother would take over so killing him would be futile. Idk, but it is really sad that the Kennedy’s perished the ways they did & all they wanted to do was be great American’s & make a difference in our world.
Oh, and like the announcer said, THIS was the very beginning of “smart weapons” that could be guided to the target with a camera. Evidently they must have really taken their time in the development of these weapons.
A dogfight, or dog fight, is an aerial battle between fighter aircraft conducted at close range.
Required the “best of the best” to fly a bomber to level flight then jump out? Really? The worst of the worst could do that. Did the Kennedys sponsor that little silly puff piece, lol.
