The OM 5 packs all the necessary features of a traditional gimbal but does so in the most compact way. Andrew Hoyle puts it through its paces.

I have a Moment Lens that my other gimbal can’t handle. Can you please offer the weight of the lenses you used?
the video was super impressive imo.. it is very clear when you switch to your studio cam
Yes, I want this, and I will never use it. 🤔 😆
there are two biggest os system for phones android and ios but cnet only showing with iphone no no thumbs down .
still using osmo mobile 2..android blues
I am happy with my OM4.
Hi, when I use USB connection when recording with SHURE MV7, the volume of the recording is very low. Would you mind giving me some solutions? Thanks!
Can I use the MagSafe on my iPhone to stick directly to the OM5 and avoid the adapter?
great but I just bought a OM4 so wont be upgrading any time soon!
Comparison to Powervision S1?
I wonder if it would work with the Fold 3 🤔
the OM4 was an excellent gimbal. the OM5 with reduced battery and no upgrade to the maximum payload is a glorified selfie stick. i am so disappointed personally. i was really looking forward to something like an all in one like zhiyun crane m2 but from DJI. i guess the only good thing out of this launch of OM5 is that the OM4 prices would (hopefully) go down, making them a much better gimbal for the price.
i like it
Nice detailed video
Do you know if it supports 4K 60fps on Android yet? Not supported on the one we have and would be worth the upgrade!
Great review, would’ve been even better to see a comparison to the previous version.
Hey thanks for the video
Have you tried it with the s21ultra?
How about the compatibility?
Could you please review it with a phone that has no IS? Not some phone that has one of the best IS.
Btw can DJI OM5 create an automatic 360 photo Sphere? I can just put the gimbal and phone in some place, access the menu. It countdown and star making a 360 photo. Can it do it?
And just remember like all DjI products: your phone has to be absolutely naked no protection for you better not drop that or accidentally have an equipment failure where falls.… Only insane people or or people who need show off their status symbol of a phone have their very expensive phones naked no protection.…. Come on DJI a simple extended clip for thicker phones/phones with cases is only a few pennies more… Going to be quite simple for DJI to have a full USB type‑c bypass to the handle to support any peripheral you want like microphone HDMI monitor and plenty of other things that could run through a fully supported USB c hub breaker box
So basically its the Osmo 4 smaller and with an extendable stick… You are right. Mic connector is missing.
What it your phone has a case I have the last model and with a case it was too heavy. And I was using a Apple case
I have the OM4 and use a Movo Edge-DI Wireless Lavalier for iPhone for audio. The receiver that plugs into my phone, an iPhone 12 Pro Max, is small enough that it works great.
The OM5 looks like you would be able to use the same wireless mic.
Other than that, your review is great.
Im looking for any technical points to giv me a reason to upgrade from om4 .
Anyone ?
Regarding the microphone, the Saramonic Blink 500 PRO is a good alternative with cordless microphones.
So typical that I just bought a Dji OM 4 in the belief that it is the newest, smallest and most comfortable.
This WILL DEFINITELY BREAK MY BANK.
I have a rode Lightning mic, which looks like it’ll clear the gimble space, Def. a Must Buy…
Too superficial, would have been helpful if you had mentioned what all the buttons do
So happy to know that the OM5 can hold heavy phones like the S21 ultra! Thanks for mentioning this bit!
i wish the clamp has a twist locking feature. I’m not comfortable with magnet alone holding a expensive phone
My OM3 gives really stable shots so I’m sure the OM5 will be a solid stabilizer too though what made the OM5 better is that it’s more compact than the other Osmo mobiles!
Easy low-angle footage on the OM5! Perfect!
4:24 Just clipping the external microphone on the phone should solve the problem.
I’m preordering.
How easy it would be having a MagSafe clamp, as accessory.
don’t support nazichina
Don’t buy DJI products very cheap quality.
Does it come with light clamp inside the box?
Have you tried this on an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a moments case with lenses?
Work with the iphone 13 pro max??
If you where going to pay for one and was just using it for shooting kids playing sports and family events would you do the OM 5 or OM 4?
Seems like this is a paid review.
There’s lot of negatives about this model which he didn’t touch.
I bought one myself , need to test it.
If i am not satisfied i will switch to previous gen, which is a lot better than this model.

!!!!!DONT BUY IT !!!!! Mimo sucks. Sucks because DJI wants to keep that useless app just for exclusive use with OM5, without improving that for Android users, instead of give the SDK to other developer to improve the use of the Osmo. The Android version of the app sucks because it’s impossible to configure it in manual mode, no slowmotion, etc etc.…Why DJI don’t want to do the same work did for IOS also for Android? What’s the problem? DJI are going to miss a lot of customers with this attitude.…No support at all for Android users…Just the same boring copy and paste replies that meaning nothing…I have the Osmo Mobile 5 since 3 days and I’m thinking to send it back seriously…
I went on ahead and snagged one for the holiday’s in Orlando this year and playing around with it and it’s impressive…
Just bought it. Not as easy to use as I’d anticipated. Bit of a learning curve ahead.
Flashing red and green lights on gimble not working what should I need to do can u help me plz
