Google Hang­outs – the pop­u­lar and loved chat app final­ly makes its way to Google’s graveyard. 

With that said, call­ing in Hang­outs will be turned off soon. What‘s done is done, we can­not do any­thing, right? Seri­ous­ly can we not do any­thing for Google Hang­outs Shut down? 

This is not true. We can give a trib­ute to Hang­outs shut­ting down. 

Here’s a brief his­to­ry of Google Hang­outs, in the form of a trib­ute to Google Hang­outs from TweakLibrary. 

Start­ed as a sol­id prod­uct launched with plen­ty of fea­tures over the course of a few years, Google Hang­outs sur­vived a lot. Since the com­pa­ny was clue­less about where and how it wants to move things went haywire.
The ear­ly years: 2011–2013 -
The gold­en years: 2014–2015
The trou­ble years: 2015–2016
The end of the sto­ry: 2020–2021
