Amazon Echo smart speakers are getting a second assistant — one made by Disney. It’s called “Hey, Disney!” — and saying those words will activate the unique assistant that co-exists with Alexa. It’s coming in 2022 to add entertainment to Echo devices, and guests at Walt Disney World hotels will find it in their resort rooms next year with Echo Show 5 devices. Bridget Carey explains how it will work.

I’m shocked she didn’t start singing “it’s a great big beautiful tomorrow”.
Haha when is the 3:00 parade? Great line. …Hurry up kids or we’ll have too wait for the 3:05 parade
Dear God, this is so creepy, especially when it’s most likely being marketed towards kids (why else would Disney collaborate with Amazon to make it?). Gotta get’em hooked on data hoovers while they’re young, huh?
Amazon Alexa can understand Australian slang now.
that is similar to when anki vector had an alexa addon so you could say alexa or hey vector to call different functions. so it’s not the first time two voice assistants were used on the same device.
I think a “hey Mickey” is more appropriate.
Disney is taking over..
I like this idea, I think for a special holidays they should do something special on the echo devices.
It’s more like.…Hey Satan whats the weather.
cool idea. I would kill for an R2, 3PO or K2 voiced one
Update: If you want to hear what “Hey, Disney” sounds like, ask Alexa “tell me about Hey Disney” and you’ll hear him. (You don’t need an Echo device, you can do it on the Amazon Alexa app.) It’s not much, but it’s all we have until we get a real demo. Everything I learned is from an interview with Amazon and Disney, and the companies have been great at answering questions. But we will keep you posted when we can actually try it.
Damn now I want to get this for my kid 🤯🔫stop taking my money Disney

“Hey, Disney! What do you think you could sell ‘Star Wars’ for, now that you’ve ‘screwed the pooch’?!”
I hope they make a GLaDOS one some time
🥰🥰🥰
Hmmm… Not sure about this one. Will have to see when it is released
“Hey, Disney”
“How may I help you?”
“Is it true that Walt Disney’s body was cryogenically frozen after his death?”
“Yes sir, I can confirm it”
“Thanks, Disney”
“You’re welcome”

Stop saying Alexa in videos!!!
Ah good old CNET Update, I remember watching it everyday after work.
I would pay 2 cents for it…
Do not say wacky It’s a bad word!!!!!
What’s her name?
Ok, Mixed opinions here. Mostly because we still don’t have enough information for it, but I promise you that all of the features that it would support, I would totally all over and would use non-stop… for about two days… and then I might feel like it’s just a paperweight. I already bought the licensed Otter Mickey ears stand for my Google Home Mini about 4 lockdowns ago and that really does enough to Disnify my home assistant experience for now, but again, will have to see once we get more information.
The like is for the song at the end ☺️
I just want to be able to say “hey Jarvis” is that too much to ask?
it isn’t the first one in india we have Amitabh bachan’s voice in Alexa in early 2021 only
