The Apple Watch is now a lot more helpful for bike riders, with features like autopause and resume, automatic cycling detection and fall detection rolling out in WatchOS 8. I’ve spent a month testing out the new bike and electric bike features on the Apple Watch and it’s become my new favorite cycling companion.

Thanks for watching! Have you tried any of these new features yet on the watch? 🚴
A comparison between its tracking and a bike computer like a garmin would be interesting. I compared my garmin watch, bike computer and phone gps and there was a difference in how often they collected data which can make a difference when riding off road on twisty trails.
Cute
She ran that stop sign 😂😆🤣
“Be honest who else is a few hours late”😂
Hi 👋 😘🤗❤
She doesn’t demonstrated fall detection.
Why no automatic pause for walking? Very annoying.
Nice to see you again on CNET, Lexy. Great video as always.
Very good review! Thank you ❤️
Here’s the problem with Fall Detection and why, as a long-time and long-distance biking enthusiast, I had to turn it OFF: The poorly designed software thinks a fall has happened with even a modest bump, when going even a modest speed such as 12–15 MPH. This happens on both gravel and paved surfaces. I then either have to shut off the alarm while riding (bad idea) or I continually have to stop the ride. Simply it, a very important feature, perhaps crucial for those of us who bike deserted gravel areas, cannot be used. (Series 5 on 8.1. Feedback to Apple sent several times.)
Good review, thanks.
Shout to Giro for the helmet !!!
This is very useful — thank you!
Thanks for clarifying the E‑Bike feature. I couldn’t find any info on the internet, if I actually have to turn on the E‑Bike Setting somewhere.
Great review. A true user experience.
You are beauty
There’s also an option that you don’t pick a workout at all, but the watch still detects & tracks activity, wonder if there’s a difference to when workout has been chosen (especially when counting calories) 🤔🤔
Great review and great effort
Thanks for the video but blowing though stop signs gives us bikers a bad name.

At 7:10 the host runs through a stop sign.
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I have an eTrikke which uses a carving motion. After watching this video I’m confident it will record my workout.
