God, what s horrible taught killing AMERICANS in the sky NOT knowing that they were AMERICANS ..
General Anders and General Patton. You Tube.
And now Washington posts makes an article saying that the same ww2 generation was homophobic and racist. Smh this type of history is being canceled by liberal left lunatics
Wow, What a great idea. Lets fly over dozens of our own airplanes full with solders in order to practice some target shooting. The worse part is that nobody payed for such foolishness.
One of my wife’s uncles was on one of the cruisers. I don’t know which one.
No mention of the Mafia assistance in the landing
The cgi is in scenes that shouldn’t even be there it’s so bad it’s funny 💀
True quality programming as it was meant to be.
Sad. With a plethora of actual footage available THC has to use cheap computer game images. Might as well go back to showing ancient alien encounters, ghost stories or the search for bigfoot, the “history” channel’s true forte! If I want this level of history, I will play world of warships or tanks as the graphics are better.
You can own a 40-mm buffers here in the US but you have to have two different types of federal firearms license because it’s considered a machine gun (fully automatic self loading) and a destructive device (artillery)
Crack troops: these are the ones with eyes like Keith Richards .
Lol, trying to fit all of those men and equipment on that island.
One thing they forgot to mention, that not only were they shooting at the C47’s they were also shooting at and killed several Paratroopers who manages to jump out of the planes.
41:41 I predict the same thing will happen to Joe Biden.
Man the worst is friendly fire. Knowing you shooting down your own guys
How did naval guns aim and hit small moving targets? Tiger was not harmed without a direct hit, right?
So, if Patton was trying to call off the planes, why didn’t him warn the battleships not to open fire until absolutely sure?
History channel is woke garbage now. Not what these men f fought for
I really hate that Patton gets so much credit. The dude wasn’t really that great of a general. Yeah he never lost a battle because he had the might and power of the USA constantly feeding him with supplies, troops, and support. He won by the blood, sweat, and tears of the men who served under him. The man didn’t inspire any confidence in his troops which is obvious by his given nick name, old blood and guts. He didn’t come up with any epic military maneuvers. What you used a pincer attack? One arm of which was amphibious? Neat, the Greeks did that thousands of years before you. Seriously the guy just responded to his enemy’s movements. I used the same sort of tactics when I was 12 and playing the video game Star Craft. If a 12 year old on a video game can do it, with zero military experience or training, then you’re nothing special.
Patton’s great blunder.
Guess this is where they got the idea for the invasion stripes on aircraft.
Mess around, Lay around (dead), the ITA should not have sided with Hitler. Good Job Britain and US!
Patton planned the whole invasion of Sicily. He talked Ike into it. Read what really happened and how he would not take the responsibility of the disastrous initial landings and airborne jump. Yes, he drove across but Ike had go there because he was blaming everyone for what happened. Patton had a problem with responsibility when things did not go his way.
“recon by force” — yes
Patton 36MAFIA
I guess the Army Air Corp., didn’t give them any air support for the Sicilian campaign.
My grandfather was apart of the 1st infantry division US army from 1941 to 1953 he served in Africa,Sicily,France and the battle of the bulge he’s 100 now
old men get angry and young men die.
This is what happens when you’re on the wrong side of History. Somebody should tell the RF
Wow 🍿🥤 7/10/22
One of the scenes in this documnentry reimnds of stonewall Jackson shot by his own men at the battle of chanserlersville.
Die Sonnebrillen 😎
The Mark VI Tiger was indeed a beast, especially since it had that deadly 88mm Flak gun as a weapon. However, even beasts have weaknesses.

So there was Seventeen Tiger I tanks from German schwere Panzer Abteilung 504 (s.Pz.Abt. 504) fought in Sicily in 1943 against the Allied invasion forces.
July 10 1943
Enjoyed it
Watching this video or scene reminds me of when I was in the ARMY and the mess SERGEANT presented me with a letter of recommendation from the COMMANDING GENERAL for JOB WELL DONEand I told him that I didn’t want it no metal nothing
the 40mm Boffers was a Swedish invention and licensed the Americans, British and Germans to build their own.
Somewhere, Gerald Ford laughing it up
Interesting and informative.Excellent photography job making it easier for viewers to better understand what the orator was describing. Historians did a very good job presenting actual facts from fiction. Class A research project!!! Orator presented the documentary very well. Special thanks to the allied forces who fought/perished/survived fighting kesselring’s seasoned/battle hardened armies. To a decisive victory/ then onto the Italian mainland for more vicious/tooth & nail military action. Without this documentary wouldn’t be possible.
My dad was in the 45th and fought in Sicily under Patton as well as North Africa.
Such bravado, such bravery — Patton in combat; not the typical rear echelon officer. Inspirational.
Patton is one of my favorite military generals of all the time
My dad’s big brother, the Wilfred Steele was a part of the North African Campaign. Several months later his younger brother, the late Sgt. AR Steele, was station there. So happy that they survived this mess.
Why is episode 2 unavailable?
Italians weren’t so much into fighting Americans. They would rather sell us pizza and drink vino .
The 504th was also in this my daddy’s unit.
