Episode 3: The creation of Elizabeth Holmes and the fall of Theranos
Elizabeth Holmes has been found guilty of four out of 11 federal charges relating to wire fraud, deceiving investors by making unsubstantiated claims about her revolutionary Edison machine. But that machine never would have worked — at least not in the way Holmes intended. Still, other promising companies are continuing to make progress with blood diagnostics that can do more with smaller volumes of blood,. Here’s what’s really possible.

A technology seemingly decades away from being viable and legitimate.
Every Dr. or some kind of Medicare tech saying it never would have worked cause it was practically impossible! After her being convicted where were you people before!?
Me being me of course I would have looked into it first before handing over millions of dollars! Not too mention looking into her as to why she dropped out!…🚩
The move fast, break things ethos is from a social media company, not a biomedical one. It should never be the goal for medical industries
Why do ppl with brain and ambitions always using their products for evil purposes?
If, this Idea/Concept was a success, it would have disrupted the Medical Equipment manufacturers (those to do everything with blood) & Human Unemployment!
japan will retake the kurils sakhalin and vladivostok south korea will take north korea..
dont pay the leviathan card or crackdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i need need ot uriantne in the bushes or dark corners take the bus and then watch howls movinh castle and spirited away.
It’s like inventing a car engine that only uses 1 drop of gasoline to get the same mileage as a full tank.
Theranos ambitions are commendable?
I applaud the few critics when everyone else abandoned sound skepticism and praised this illusionist.
Elizabeth Holmes was muted. YOU PEOPLE ARE STUPID. You will feel so ignorant when she proves Edison works. You don’t understand the science.
I. Hate. Fraudsters.
hmm don’t rush things that can have negative health effects on people…but trust big pharma and take the rushed vaccines or else we’ll demonize you
Wikipedia “lab on a chip”. Much like AI, flying cars or supersonic air travel, it works in the lab in specific instances, but is not quite ready for prime time.
As a pathologist, its absolutely insane to me that anyone believed this. Makes me realise people really have no clue what lab analysis require
When you need to break physical laws to get something to work .….. youre screwed.
This wouldve been a trillion dollar innovation if possible lol
Calling this an invention is giving it too much credit. I have an invention. My invention allows a fully loaded 747 to travel from NY to LA on one gallon of fuel. Now my invention doesn’t work and can’t but its still my invention. A better way of describing this would be a combination of wish and lie.
There needed to be a larger sample size of blood other than just one drop.
