Why, why have they not put marking around the touch pad? And touch keys? Jeeeese. Clearly every reviewer was told not to mention the “touch bar” too much, which means Dell must know it’s a dud.
Don’t know if anybody else has noticed this, but among longtime Dell users, the design of the XPS 13 Plus is familiar. In short, its keyboard looks almost exactly like the Adamo 13 — and its capacitive touch row looks exactly like that on the old Adamo, whic had volume and audio/video control icons lit up above the keyboard.
Why nobody talks about how to do right-click on that one-piece panel?
Didn’t apple try all these things and no one liked it? So explain to me why they continued this with Dell after they know no one liked apples idea .do they not listen.
I been waiting for replacement for my xps13, but without a mini SD and touch bar? I am gonna pass this one.
NOPE, Thank you.
They developed the whole product design based on feature that no one wanted nor needed. Dare I say the design and that fn key row is also screaming bad user experience ?
Lets hope dell 15 inch wouldn’t be with any compromise. Though this laptop looks beautiful but it is also very fragile. Dont know about removing extra layer from screen but that worries me. Also those capacitive buttons should have given with hepatic alteast so that people wont complaint. AMD version should also be included as they r more power efficient with 6nm chips.
looks good but BAD DESIGN KEYBOARD (F1~F12 physical keyboard want)
My Lenovo series 9 did all this first including a leather back and glass track pad. But will still get the xps plus
Amazing upgrade laptop i am shocked
this is the definition of form over function. XPS is meant to be a workhorse at heart, this just seems like its full of gimmicks. still a beautiful laptop tho.
A step backwards.
Doesn’t look like a good laptop.
More ports would be better
Also the mouse looks odd
Finally the Touch Bar is a bad idea as proven by apple.
The problem with Dell is that they have a very disgusting low quality of employees. They are trained to escape their miserable motherboards/screens’ hidden defects by cheating the consumers with very systematic and pre-organized unethical tactics. (implemented through the remotely instructed India’s offshores) to challenge, manipulate and violates the laws from outside of its countries and to escape their hilarious amounts of litigations in the courthouses “make a depth look on Dell’s courts’ judgments in a wide range of many different international courthouses.” And you will get surprised by the results.
Dell 1st need to change their management’s systems with a more reliable quality check, ethical, a better quality well-trained employees and getting ride off their saving strategies implemented through their Indian offshore centres.
I hope that CNET will not hide their scandals, “their nasty business,” and keep this as unedited and a reliable review!
WHERE IS XPS 15 PLUS!!!!!
This just screams more expensive to repair. Need to a new trackpad? Sorry, you need to replace the whole top chasis which is now more expensive than the older one because it has stupid expensive capacitive buttons and a fancy fragile trackpad that costs more to manufacture.
Remember when Windows laptops were cheaper and less expensive to repair and maintain? Those days are long gone and Apple is now value for money
would love the 2 in 1 version of this if they ever make one.
once you use a 2 in 1 u can never go back
how does right click work with this kind of “touchpad”?
no Headphone Jake? well I am done
All the reviewers are way too mild with only 2 USB C. It Needs 3 and a SEPERATE port for charching. They are unnecessarily moving way too many things now. The trackpad needs to have edges, the headphone jack neds to come back and for goodness sake don’t put a fully glass bottom part. it WILL scratch overtime they seem to be really going into the wrong direction thinking like they’re Apple but even worse. Apple even re introduced all those ports back… seriously Dell is really confused at this point and I’m not here for it. I think this was the final draw for me to switch to a different brand now..
about the XPS 15 will there be a redesign?
Omg that is gorgeous design laptop
XPS MINUS
Is there any xps15 plus
samsung book pro 2 !!
Not a big fan of the touchpad. I like my lanes marked
This is definitely not for Software Engineers 💔💔
I can not believe that they added that capacitive function bar. It is horrible in my opinion. Also that touchpad without borders is horrible. It is so disappointing. I am also not sure if I like the fact that the keys extend all the way to the edges.
I have used a dell XPS 13 9370 for over 3 years now and I still use it every day, that is a great laptop. Dell needs to keep the function keys, improve the performance, improve the battery life, and improve the touchpad. The touchpad on the dell XPS 13 9370 is already quite good for a windows laptop but it would be nice if it was as good as on Apple laptops.
Why? … Just why? No one asked for these features of a touch bar or no space between keys. The touch bar on the macbook air/pro, no one used, and there’s going to be many typos since there are no space between keys. Go back to the old design from last year. What a shame.
I’d get the 15-in. The 13 in is too small for me. That’s one reason why I traded my MacBook 13 in for the 14-in MacBook pro
is that fanless?
I’ll buy Dell XPS 13 if they put a dedicated GPU in it.
RTX 3050TI at least, just like what ASUS did to the Flow X13.
Ich würde es allein dafür schon kaufen, Windows XP darauf zu installieren
When does this thing come out I need it
Pq a Dell insiste em ter apenas duas portas de entrada , as correntes ganham muito , referente a entradas usb
I’m shocked by all of the negative comments, this thing is absolutely spectacular.
Is that really actual your last name?
I really like this design, and I’m hoping for an XPS 15 and 17 version of this laptop. I use my laptop for entertainment and a few games like The Sims (which aren’t really hardcore), and I use a mouse anyway. The only time I use a trackpad is when my mouse runs out of battery, and I prefer the aesthetic of not having one. I’m just waiting for this version of the xps 15 to be released so I can get it. The xps 15 plus in white will be my favourite I can tell
Dell Xps plus is like the bimbo in the Ultrabook category. Looks good, but lack basic necessary functionality.
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Would you recommend the 1TB NvME or the normal 512GB SSD?
I don’t need a lot of space but need performance. Worth spending more for the 1TB?
I recently bought Dell XPS 13+ UHD+, i5, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and I returned it after 5 days. My total usage in those 5 days was not more than 1-1:30 hours. Reason being extremely pathetic (poor would still be better) battery life, my usage didn’t even include consuming media content yet. It included web browsing and some work on word and battery drained a lot like 1%-1.5% every minute.
If you think UHD resolution is the reason then think again because I had kept it at 720p and around 30% or 30 points of brightness and as per “experts” resolution doesn’t matter to battery life apparently but still battery was in no mood to co-operate.
I took it to the vendor and he tried updating it and doing all sorts of magic stuff but could only extract 2–2.5 of battery life.
So if you’re planning to buy this laptop then please don’t. It’s not even for a person who uses it for everyday work and for mild entertainment forget about creators.
Pro: Design is beautiful
Con: The whole above mentioned review which outweighs the pros.
Please Don’t go straight for the expert reviewers opinion because they receive complementary review models (which might be good) and have got nothing to lose whereas you do. Extremely disappointed with Dell.
The problem with it is the battery life. I have seen reviews where if you get the 3.2k or 4k screen option, battery lasts like. 5 or 6 hours. By comparison, aacbook air that costs about the same gives better performance and can last 15+ hours at least.
Is there anyway to download that theme with that AMAZING wallpaper?
