Explore the depth of one of history’s most interesting men—Theodore Roosevelt. Watch the two-night event “Theodore Roosevelt” premiering Memorial Day at 8/7c.
“Abraham Lincoln” tells the true story of America’s iconic 16th president. Across three two-hour episodes, the mini-series immerses viewers into the world and story of Abe before Lincoln. A young man looking to make his mark, Abraham Lincoln grows into the man who puts himself in a position to lead the young United States through its greatest crisis. By weaving together both scripted dramatizations of important moments in his life and commentary by authoritative historians and public figures-including former President Barack Obama-the series is a portrait of Lincoln determined to leave his mark on the world. The series chronicles the evolution of Abraham Lincoln as a man and as a thinker against the backdrop of a nation increasingly torn over the issue of slavery. As the war rages on, the series shows how, in part due to the efforts and influence of abolitionists like Frederick Douglass, he comes to value the importance of seizing the moment at hand to end slavery in America, once and for all.

Then put off your sanctions to russia where you do not know its battle within its land
If Licln did exoect and quick outcome why did he not surrender. Either your information is false or Licoln is evil
Lincoln underestimated the Southern spirit. Why would a nation that had slavery be so hard to beat despite everything going against them? Because it was about SO much more than slavery.
Was a million lives worth it?
So. I don’t remember the historians saying that dumb women were. There at battle traitor Mc
These stories are nothing but doubles speak, and accusing the working class of something the rich caused, it’s not science and should not be presented as important !
Wish they’d do one of these shows about Jefferson Davis, Lee, Bragg, and Longstreet.
To fight corruption, let corrupt officials fight their own battles! Look at us now, being dictated by our own “freedom” gov… 😢
Can I trust a history channel video?

Lincoln didn’t realize how tuff the South was at that time they could of hit Washington if they wanted because the union really wasn’t that big yet
Those rebels got what was coming to them. Sad that so many losers think of the confederacy as their heritage when in reality it’s a myth made by salty ex confederates who were embarrassed they were on the wrong side of history. The south tried to preserve slavery and was punished 🇺🇸
Both armies are green not a lot of experience yeah right the south had a lot of experience they had the top generals
i love this stuff

0:51 “That’s the way we have always done it”
Everyone did this. All armies were basically made up of farmers and peasants. Only a few throughout history up until the 1900s had professional soldiers.
Did you forget about the “Philippi Races” June 3, 1861 in Philippi, VA (now WV)??

“Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the RIGHT to
rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits
them better. This is a most valuable, a most SACRED RIGHT — a RIGHT which we
hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this RIGHT confined to cases
in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it.
Any “PORTION” of such people, that can, may revolutionize, and make their own of
so much of the territory as they inhabit.”
-a. lincoln, January 12, 1848
The South, according to lincoln’s statement above, had EVERY RIGHT to secede from the union and form their own government.
The first battle was the raid on Harper’s Ferry.
Alternate titles-” wars that rich people started to get richer by forcing people beneath them to fight,” or “the rich evil people just want everyone else dead so they can have the world to themselves.”
