They were always ahead, we are the one behind of everything .
They’re Chinese ships so naturally they must have looked like floating pagodas?
BS if the Chinese were so smart why did they not claim America?
Sorry, but now the CCP is gonna think they have rights to the US… even though the VIKINGS and NOT the Chinese would’ve been first. Columbus didn’t discover America anyway.
That wind sure was blowing. Might be the vibration old Dave felt in the rods.
The ancient Old Chinese language is interesting to listen to 😳
Vikings said hold my beer
Vikings were here a thousand years prior but , meh those POC are SO amazing !! Gets so old .
Should’a got the mythbusters crew to help them guide that hot iron ball into a target. All that effort to drop a hot piece of metal into the lake. Not sure why they didn’t construct a chute or ramp to simulate a launch (they already proved it could be launched accurately after all) and direct the hot ball predictably into a target. Lot of effort for a mighty small payoff.
This is completely incorrect, but still entertaining… you guys should probably think about changing your name.
Bruh listen to what they just said about a bomb 💣 lol who’s makin minute long bombs idk man
I’ve been saying for years that left is selling us out to China now the left pushing reparations and China discovered the u.s. how convenient
So, if they were 71 years before Columbus, doesn’t that put them some 400 years after the Vikings?
So treasure ship crashed. And they just left it there full of treasure ???
He’s definitely correct about people walking here over the Bering Strait. Too much evidence to the contrary.
Ponce de Leone found Punta Gorda isles /America, way befits old CC, looking fire the fountain of youth
27:32 you ain’t kiddin
Vikings were a few centuries before Columbus. Africans also.
This is Chinese Propaganda! Free Tibet , Free Hong Kong!
Man, the History channel really is like night and day sometimes. On one hand, you have shows talking about actual history (dramatized but at least it’s real) then you have other shows that present myth, legend, superstition, conspiracy theories, assumptions, and unverifiable claims as if they are fact. Even within this episode, it’s like they can’t decide what they’re trying to be or say. They’ve got the history part in there, then there’s some guy with “magic” sticks looking for a buried ship.
Try making a study of wooden naval architecture before making these specious claims about oceangoing junk.
If they did discover American before Columbus Vikings beet both anyways by a long time
They already proved the Norse Vikings were the first Outsiders that “discovered” North America. Lonesome meadows Newfoundland late 900s-early 1000s ad. There are other theories that haven’t been proven yet such as ancient Irish celts were before the Vikings and the Polynesians were long before both on the west coast. But I’d say there are lots of groups that’s discovered North America long before Columbus. He just got credit because he was backed by a king.
he found driftwood
I was sure that I heard a story that they found a Chinese ship or mooring stones or something to that effect in San Francisco from like the 1300s or something
Clovis man in Northern America 12,000 years ago. And they’re talking about the Chinese discovering it less than a thousand years ago. Maybe China was so bad in those days that the people that discovered anywhere else didn’t want to go back. Would you go back to China today if you didn’t have to? It was worse then
Colombus discovered the Americas for us and that is all that matters to us.
Even if the Chinese discovered America, it didn’t lead to anything like colonization or any extensive trade with the native. Looks more like it was by accident after a tsunami rather than actual exploration.
If the Chinese “discovered America 41 years before Columbus” When did the native Americans discover America? The natives also said that the rock walls were here since before they got here and we have the Adena and Hopewell peoples, so why don’t you keep going back a bit before declaring who was the first to discover America.
The History Channel equal parts historical and complete BS
I would just like to point out that they just said that the Chinese have been making ‘junk’ for centuries.….
If the Chinese found America back then how would they react?
Chinese very complex and advanced looking on a shore of spear head welding canoe users.
Not to put down native Americans.but the Chinese wouldnt want to tangle with nothing that offered them REWARD.
They might have mildly excursion the coast but they had the indies and other advancing civilizations to watch and trade with.🧐🏴☠️⚔️
From engineering genuises ahead of their time to stealing every invention and the shottiest of constructions, china has fallen hard.
A complete BS history.
Human footprint fossils have been found White Sands National Park in the US Southwestern state of New Mexico. Those have been dated during the last ice age up to 25,000 years ago. Interspersed between, through, among and around those human footprints are footprints of large, extinct mammals like mammoths, giant ground sloths, etc. according to PBS program Nova.
“DISCOVERY” 71 years before Columbus is presumptous! Native Americans were in both North and South America for thousands of years before Columbus!
Additionally, Vikings were in Northeast Canada long, long before Columbus. Their living quarters have recently been excavated in Newfoundland, Canada. The Vikings (who called it “Vinland” (wild grape vines). The Vikings, who had migrated to Greenland and Iceland prior to Newfoundland were apparently blown off course when sailing from Europe to those islands. The large, tall trees of Vinland were a great resource for shipbuilding, due to the almost treeless terrain of Greenland, Iceland, and to a large extence N European lands. Of course, Native Americans were there thousands of years prior to the Vikings as well. Northern Europeans (mostly from Ireland & British Isles) were well aware of and had been using the large cod fisheries off the Northeast coast of Canada and the United States.
Polynesians visited the Northwest coast of Canada and the United States hundreds to thousands of years prior to that!
While Chinese Junks capable of crossing the Atlantic is interesting, and probably possible, claiming the Chinese were the “first to discover the New World” is presptious when one takes into consideration the above-mentioned Native Americans, Vikings, Polynesians and other groups which pre-dated Columbus’ first voyage in 1492.
They DISCOVERED America period!
china revolutionize ship sailing, not europeans!
I think this is very interesting but I don’t think the Chinese discovered America first. There is no doubt the native Americans are from Central Asia. But even when they came to the Americas they said there were people here before them. Who were they?
Columbus did NOT discover North America. He only landed in the Caribbean Islands and South America.
Well, we are basically 20 years on now…still no evidence of the junks in America. Lol.
This is the episode I remember that I liked.
