It is incor­rect to say this is the only iPad mod­el with side Touch ID- it is also present on the cur­rent iPad mini,

The entry lev­el iPad is good but only hav­ing 3GB RAM real­ly ham­pers it.

You are right about that insur­ance pol­i­cy. I have been using my iPad Pro 2018 now switched to the M1 ver­sion and when I think about fly­ing to Wash­ing­ton state for the sum­mer while hav­ing an online sum­mer class it gives me a lit­tle anx­i­ety just tak­ing an iPad M1 on the go. Don’t know when there is going to be a proc­tored exam or a web­site that is not work­ing great on iPa­dOS safari.

Try­ing to decide between an IPad Air 5 or IPad Mini 6 idk what to choose though. Most­ly want some­thing nice for watch­ing con­tent and doing some light notes for school.

I don’t think future proof­ing is tru­ly pos­si­ble. Reminds me when I was a kid and one got a new home com­put­er, it was out of date with­in months of bring­ing it home and after a year, a dinosaur. Instead, I say buy what you like for your intend­ed use for the best price pos­si­ble and don’t wor­ry about future proof­ing. Every­thing becomes obso­lete faster than it used to. What mat­ters is can it do what you want it to do, how much and how long. The oth­er option is just wait, which can be hard when we all some­times want that new thing as soon as pos­si­ble, but how many times have we also bought some­thing and then either had buy­ers remorse or it was not what we thought it was going to be. Shop for what you want and need and bal­ance that with what you can afford and you will be hap­pi­er than if you spent a lot more than you can or got some­thing for less for the sake of buy­ing. Oth­er­wise, just wait and be grateful.
