Apple’s Mac Studio is heavy, gray, and full of ports. But the really exciting stuff is on the inside. Meet the M1 Ultra, Apple’s brand-new processor that combines two M1 Max chips into one monstrous CPU. We gave this device to professionals across The Verge’s creative team. Here’s what they had to say.

Quick correction! At 9:07 the current MacBook Pro and iPad Pro use a mini-LED display, not micro-LED. Thank you to DGB Antho for flagging 😀

“What else can you glue two of together and double it’s performance?”
if you are film composer, you probably figured out without watching videos: get the best, pay more….
Many programs are single thread only so the Ultra will have no benefit. I.e. Photoshop. Check which programs you use first.
Great review, thankyou
You blew your cover at the conclusion part.
3:42 don’t use Adobe Premier. Easy Fix
Great review!
I really like your approach to review the Studio and Studio display.
Sudio display is a real 10 with a LUT? Adobe RGB colorspace is 90%?
Thanks!
make sure you wear a bigmask while you are alone in your room video editing
This was amazing
You should not use the word “ya’ll” unless you are from the South.
3:47 How Pro is one if it uses Adobe Premiere. The holy bloatware? FCP is not laggy on any Mac from 2009 and later, yes it even chops through 4K on a 2009 Mini. Banish Adobe! Greedy producers of digital junk. Premiere is probably programmed in Python by some fresh grads.
I wish audio production was also covered properly. Most of these videos are of the, by the, and for the YouTuber.
Don’t bother with the stock Apple stand. Get the VESA mount version. It is a lot more versatile for placement and orientation.
Good review. But. And mean really but 🙂 when you work as a professional you can‘t go with 1 tb ssd. You need 8tb. And how much do you pay then? I buy two better windows machines for the money. 🙂
Is there a video like this comparing the Mac Studio with the new Mac Mini M2 Pro??
Only 6k where I live it’s 10k
I think Apple hates poor people.
Not gonna buy the monitor anymore.
Such a well-rounded review!
Curious — how many Python scripts was running at a given time? It’s likely that it was running single threaded and was capped at a max speed of one performance core. The point still holds though
