First 🥇
Thanks for that I was looking for one!!
Nice house 🏡
Those range extenders are all terrible. Just use a mesh network.
I just switched to eero and all my wifi issues were gone, zero dead spots.
I just don’t recommend eero for people who love playing /messing/modifying with routers settings.
good timing, I’m looking for this
Wired the house with cat6 cable and had a bunch of old routers laying around used them as access points zero dead zones
TP Link extenders after really easy to set up with the app.
Very useful video thank you
Outdoor weather proof extender?
Do not recommend any of these range extenders. This video failed to explain that you will loose half of your bandwidth with each extender you add. Also, there is a reason these extenders are this cheap, it’s because they are cheap and security and firmware updates are not on the top priority. There are way better alternatives and being each house is different I would recommend you hire a certified tech like myself, sorry for the self plug, and have a review done of your house and you can see from heat map where the best spots are to place equipment and how many AP’s are needed.
I need something that can get through a couple of walls of concrete. I’m renting a set of wifi pods from my provider that is working well, but I pay a monthly fee for it. I’d really like to buy something outright, but I need to find something that’s just as powerful.
Since your main router is a Netgear one, I have to mention this amazing extender I personally use: Netgear EX6110.
It is incredibly small, or as we like to say Tiny but Mighty, up to AC1200, can do dual bands, but my recommendation, and the standout feature it has, is this option called Fast Lane, where it basically uses one band to connect to the router, and the other to output to its area, and I get amazing speeds that way, almost as fast as the source router, with little to no dropped connections, and that way I kept the main router broadcasting dual bands for older devices. I have it set up to receive on 2.4 and output 5GHz, as I have a lot of concrete walls and this setup was the best for my home. And it was very affordable, $75 in its highest price, I got it at $50.
Any chance CNET can do a wireless booster review for those who go camping and need to use the public WiFi?
need your help what’s the best house router that’s fast and performance and is a gaming router that’s affordable
Any enterprise network architect will tell you….never, ever use a network extender.
I may have to upgrade my cheap one outdated one I got from Fry’s electronics years ago. Thanks for the suggestions.
What software/app is that which tests internet speed ?
If you have a one story floor plan, just get a router the speed double your square footage.
GOOD STUFF!! THANK YOU!! I wanna get one now that I understand them!!
Hey guru
If i name the original wifi name and the wifi name of the extender the same, will my vpn connection break when I move across the two WiFi?
Thank you.
Can work with other router brands or does it only work with TP-Link?
Thank you so much for this very good information. Happy to like and subscribe!! (Smashed it!)
Does this work for AT&T Fiber?
can we use these wifi extender via ethernet input, where wifi is not in good range?
Thanks I appreciate the info!
Surely informative, but I closed after one minute due to anoying stupid music
So I have Xfinity Wifi. I just bought the extender. Should I have also bought a router? I figure it would be better then the one they gave
When using some products under the same company the extender does not show up as a separate network, for example if you connect a TP-Link OneMesh enabled router to a OneMesh extender then it will all operate under one network (show up as one network in wifi settings) and the phone, console, tv etc just uses the one with the best signal, This is different from just renaming the extender and is more effective.
you are in the same floor near the main router, but a device WiFi is connected to the mesh extender in the lower floor?
Does the mesh have this problem? how to make sure you’r connected to the nearest router/extender or particular one of them?
I need to something that’s good for use at a coffee shop, hotel… place where I do not have access to the router.
Goes to the trouble of making a video and never answers ANY of the questions in the comment section… HUH! Nothing worse than reading conjecture of a bunch of wannabe experts and novices.
Changing the SSID to be the same doesn’t solve the issue that devices tend to keep being connected to the original source if possible. You are talking about mesh network, having an extender with the same SSID is something completely different.
Thanks for the helpful video, I have never hear of a mesh router before I believe that it will work the best for me Thanks again
TP-LINK AV1200 is much better than the TP-LINK AV600
Mine is 2800 sft house which model is good
THANK YOU SO MUCH. GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION. I LEARNED SO MUCH.
I NEED TO UPGRADE MY LIFE FIRST. THE UPGRADE MY TECHNOLGY.
If the main roter has radio on AUTO will the extender also change radio channel automatically?
