I watched this a bunch as a kid, but as an adult and his­to­ri­an when I watch I can’t help but see the inac­cu­ra­cies in the telling. This is a clas­sic in its own right though!

Indi­vid­ual say­ing tun­nels were below ground was incor­rect. They are at ground lev­el. exca­vat­ed earth was used to fill in swamp, and build a foun­da­tion for the build­ings. This from a pre­vi­ous cast mem­ber that worked there twice with a 30 gap in employ­ment, which I believe is a record for all Dis­ney ven­tures. Once was in Fire Pre­ven­tion 🔥🚒 and once in mer­chan­dise 🎁🎒🌂🐻. Pay was poor, expe­ri­ence was awe­some. Still live in Orlan­do, and am 80 years old.

I think it’s very cute but VR has real­ly sur­passed all of this in terms of get­ting the expe­ri­ence (most, not every­thing of course).

Wow… how may times did they say SWAMP.….. Its built on the Flori­da Ever­glades. Amaz­ing how one word change makes a HUGE dif­fer­ence. Grant­ed, DW is pro­tect­ing its unde­vel­oped por­tion of the Ever­glades its on which is now the last haven for the wildlife there due to the non DW sprawl that DW cre­at­ed around it.

I’ve been on a Dis­ney his­to­ry binge late­ly, this is the biggest one yet, I just wish it was more in depth. Maybe they’ll update it some day!

I still have this DVD. But the DVD I have was done before Expe­di­tion Ever­est was out, at the time it was still being built. So it looks like they updat­ed it, lat­er on.

It stinks that Dis­ney does not allow pas­sen­gers to ride in the front of the mono­rail and the Dis­ney Employ­ee who Dri­ves the Mono­rail would give the kids their Dis­ney Pilot wings. A great Core mem­o­ry that I thank my Par­ents for allow­ing me and my younger broth­er to expe­ri­ence. My son always asks every time we go, you think they would let us ride in the Front like they use to do when you were lit­tle Dad….. Even tho the answer is always no, it is still cute hear­ing it come from my lit­tle ones mouth because i remem­ber ask­ing my dad the same thing when Dis­ney stopped allow­ing front passengers

Well, cool, but very out­dat­ed! I think I remem­ber see­ing this a decade ago on tv. Would love to see UPDATED ver­sion includ­ing all the new track­less rides, Pan­do­ra, Galaxy’s Edge and new resorts…

Mark my words, Dis­ney will be bought out by the end of the decade if they don’t sell the MCU and Star Wars. If all the shills think their loss­es are going to get bet­ter based on their cur­rent woke tra­jec­to­ry, think again.

I saw the Tiki Room back in ’76. I still remem­ber how awed I was of the event.
