Researchers at UC San Diego have created an app that can detect diseases like Alzheimer’s by using the camera to examine a patient’s pupil. It’s the latest way smartphone cameras have been shown to be effective in diagnosing disease. And while it’s good to know that you may already have a health monitoring tool in your pocket, how far this technology goes could have an impact on you beyond your health.
