Sushmita Sen on Why She Never Married: Met some interesting men, they were a disappointment

Sush­mi­ta Sen looked at her best while speak­ing to Twin­kle Khan­na for Tweak Indi­a’s The Icons. The for­mer Miss Uni­verse also spoke about her deci­sion not to get mar­ried and what led to it. “For­tu­nate­ly I’ve met some very inter­est­ing men in my life, the only rea­son I’ve nev­er mar­ried is because they were a dis­ap­point­ment. It had noth­ing to do with my chil­dren. My kids were nev­er in the equa­tion. If any­thing, they have been very gra­cious. Both of my chil­dren have accept­ed peo­ple in my life with open arms, nev­er mak­ing a face. They have shown every­one the same lev­el of love and respect. It’s the most beau­ti­ful thing to look at,” said Sush­mi­ta Sen.

The actress added: “I came close to get­ting mar­ried three times, all three times God saved me. I can­not tell you what dis­as­ters fol­lowed their respec­tive lives. God pro­tect­ed me, also because God pro­tects these two chil­dren, He can. “Don’t let me get into a dirty affair.”

Last year, Sush­mi­ta Sen announced her split with mod­el boyfriend Rohman in an Insta­gram post. “We start­ed as friends, we’ll stay friends! The rela­tion­ship was long gone… The love remains,” she wrote. She accom­pa­nied the post with the hash­tags #nomore­spec­u­la­tions.

Sush­mi­ta Sen is a sin­gle moth­er to daugh­ters Alisah and Renee. She adopt­ed Renee in 2000 while Alisah joined the fam­i­ly in 2010. Renee made her act­ing debut with a short film.

Sush­mi­ta Sen was crowned Miss Uni­verse in 1994. She made her Bol­ly­wood debut in the 1996 film das­tak. She act­ed in films such as Biwi #1, Do Knot Dis­turb, Main Hoon Na, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge and no prob­lem. She was last seen in the web series aarya 2.
