The internet hasn’t changed for decades — until now.

Satellite-based internet companies like OneWeb, SpaceX’s Starlink, and Amazon’s Project Kuiper are angling to change the shape of the internet for the first time in decades. Instead of providing internet from geosynchronous satellites far from Earth, they’re doing it from low- to medium-Earth orbit, which could transform how we connect. But will satellite internet providers be able to overcome potential inconsistent connectivity and latency swings to finally get underserved broadband areas online?

Have you ever tried satellite internet?
The biggest issue with space internet is that if we become too dependent on it, repairs will take forever when a satellite eventually is hit with debris.. not only that but the network technology will probably be outdated by the time its complete.
America’s internets connectivity really shows how far behind it is in general in some areas.
Really hope that with all of these companies launching satellites we don’t have some catastrophic event with space debris that causes a chain reaction and makes launching anything in the future extremely difficult
I don’t use internet. Can you trust me?
Surprised they didn’t call out Kessler Syndrome, which posits that enough space debris could make it functionally impossible for us to travel to space for a long while.
Fun part the internet is just cable in the sea XD sometimes 🦈 eat on then and a whole content have internet problems XD
no i am sorry manila you but i got them you type when you didn’t let go now don’t really move out okay
call call nyan application decom
Well, this is another human-made disaster in the making.
I seriously thought this video was gonna introduce a brand new infrastructure. 😂 Oh well, it was fun enough i guess.
Sky net
The masses of Starlink and other internet provider hardware in space will eventually turn into a shell of space junk. It is hardly a solution, but it seems it will serve the military well until we find a better option.
I hate to say it but why are we still building telescopes on earth? Just put em in space. It not like astronomers physically look through them anymore anyway.
why is that “they’re always moving around relative to a particular spot on earth” because of “they go a lot faster” “to keep from falling”? I can’t get much of its logic…
Maybe you just want to say “they move on the same orbit to provide a stable service”?
I’m worried a solar storm could destroy all those fleets in one blow
RUSSELL MANIAAA!!!
On one side, it is pretty cool. You could get internet anywhere in the world. You will never get lost
On the other side, this has to do some damage to human biology. Constant internet beaming down to us, got to f*** us up and especially children as they are still growing and their brains are developing. I wonder if any research is done on this
Verizon 5G home internet: I have the ASK-NCQ1338 box and 4/5 bars for 5G signal. I got 330 download, 23 upload, no data cap. So easy, just plug in the power cord and it works. Verizon is $50/mo ($25/mo if u have unlimited cellphone plan), and I’ve cancelled cable. I tested 7 tvs streaming simultaneously in the evening and Speedtest said that the download speed was 177.
Cable internet/tv/phone bundle has been monopolizing/raping me for 20 years, and cable is unreliable, and TV picture is bad at 720P/1080i.
I have 60 devices. I have a large 2 story house 2600ft.
I also ordered another 5G home internet for my son who’s going back to college for his off-campus rental house.
Thx for metric into di infographics.
Enjoy the few years of watching the night sky and stars left.
