New Delhi: Google has revamped the Gmail experience for all users, bringing Meet, chat, video calling, and Spaces closer together as part of the overall experience. Later this year, users will see improvements to Gmail for tablet users, better emoji support, and more accessibility features. “Now you can streamline Gmail the way you want to stay connected, whether it’s a standalone email application or a hub for easily switching between chat, spaces and video calls in Google Meet,” said Neena Kamath, product manager.
Gmail has changed a lot over the past 18 years, and the latest changes bring helpful updates for every Gmail user, including the best features from Google Workspace combined with a fresh new look based on Google’s Material Design 3. “To help people stay connected, we’re bringing Gmail, Chat, Spaces and Meet together into a single, unified view,” Kamath announced. (ALSO READ: Sensex climbs 1,041 points, Nifty nears 17,000 as bulls regain footing)
The integrated view will be rolled out to all Gmail users who have chat enabled.
You’ll see a clean, streamlined way to switch between apps that you can customize based on what works best for you.
Over the next few weeks, users will be able to enable the integrated view by using the new visual configuration option in Settings ? and anyone who wants to keep their existing Gmail layout can do so.
“Beyond the user interface, we continue to make Gmail more powerful and customizable. For example, we’re making it easier than ever to find the message you’re looking for by bringing search chips to your inbox and improving search results by suggesting the best match for your query,” said Google.
