Great structure..smart..
As an outdoor survivalist if over 25 years I must say that is extremely impressive!! Good job girl. 👏
Great video !
Nice and efficient! Cringed at the fireplace a little though.
It’s better than nothing. We close the door and turn on heat and get under blankets. She just made her house with snow out might be a weird time frame but it looks very cozy
How viable is this if it takes 40 days to make?
Bit of a boring season lots of emotion internal stuff not as much survival content didn’t even see a polar bear…
My favorite show, but.……This was the WORSE season ever.
I love these extras waaaay better than the show sometimes. Not the fabricated drama. The actual “good stuff.” Glad the History channel/Alone producers are listening to us viewers and providing some of what many of us are asking for. The skills challenge season checks those boxes. The Frozen season, too, so far. Less BS/drama, more skills, builds, food procurement, etc. Thank you producers! Also, Karie Lee was Awesome!!! Looking forward to studying more with her.
I would love like an African tribesman to just come on the show and crush everyone 😂. Like he’s just good out there np.
Karie Lee, wise woman from day #1. Digs into a hill to take advantage of the relative warmth of the earth. Puts earthen sod (not only tree branches, like others), on top of her roof, just like the pioneers of the west did. Front walls made thickly from earth, heavy, insulated door. I’ve seen people say her shelter was shoddy but No, it’s practical and likely quite warm. Brava!.
why waste a week or more’s time and calories on a shelter, when you can build a sufficient one in ONE day? Why waste 2–3 weeks on hauling and processing firewood when you dont need it? A proper shelter needs no fire inside of it down to 0F, and they will never see such cold, on Labrador island, cause they’ll never see xmas there. They dont know how to conserve their calories. The producers have ruined anyones abiility to score food with their bs restrictions on fishing, trapping and hunting. If the tribes wont let you do those things, go some place where they WILL, Duh.. The producers want their expenses to end ASAP, so the viewers get nothing that they coudln’t get watching their local Campfire girls playing in the park. They dont even know how to save a week’s time and calories that they waste on boiling 3 gallons of water at a time, in a tarp lined pit, storing the water in a pair of tarp and tape pants, until they can make the five 1‑gallon baked clay cookpots and their lids.
in half a day, you can make a pole and 10x10 tarp work pavilion, with one way projected heat Siberian fire lays around the sides of the shelter, if need be. This will let you work out in the cold rain. The sleeping/shelter cant be much bigger than a coffin, so that debris and your 5 layers of alpaca wool clothing are enough to keep you warm, no sleeping bag or fire required.
i you can be working out there with bare hands, it’s not even 40Fdegrees If you hustle for 10 days, you’ll have done about all that can be done accorrding to the rules.
Hey History. This competition should be international👎
Spend all that time building. I don’t get it. Priority number one for me would be food. And my shelter idea wouldn’t take as long. 3 days tops.
Ok sod roof is a stretch off there -. There was more tarp than sod
I like how she treated this challenge as if she moved house.
Great shelter 🎉
Great build but why not in the woods and out of the elements.
This woman is awesome!
That lady spent WAY too much time on her shelter.…and it was too high on the hillside, so it was exposed to harsh winds.….plus too far away from a water source.….
20 days to have shelter.
❤
I love this show but where can i see the whole epesode not a clips like this?
