My great grand­fa­ther was wound­ed at the Bat­tle of Shiloh, sur­vived that injury, went back home and got mar­ried. Had a child who even­tu­al­ly would be my grand­moth­er on my father’s side and yada, yada, yada — here I am.

We can only imag­ine the hor­ror of those two days.

The north­ern gov­ern­ment ( Lin­coln) was uncon­sti­tu­tion­al­ly and tyran­ni­cal­ly try­ing to keep the many states who felt abused and agriev­ed by decades of inequitable treat­ment from leav­ing the con­sor­tium in of states which was orig­i­nal­ly guar­an­teed to them if it ever came to that point. Lin­coln and oth­ers ful­ly admit­ted that the north could not sur­vive in the lifestyle that they had become accus­tomed to with­out the rev­enue derived from the south which had been pay­ing for 75–80% of the coun­try’s expens­es and infra­struc­ture for decades . If John­ston had not been unfor­tu­nate­ly killed , he would not have wast­ed time dri­ving the rest of the invad­ing mur­der­ers into the river.

My great great grand­fa­ther and his broth­ers fought in the 34th Illi­nois Vol­un­teer Infantry Com­pa­ny F. George L. Richard­son, James W. Richard­son, Willam J. Richard­son fought at Shiloh.

Im a big admir­er of Union Gen­er­al U.S. Grant. His suc­cess in the West­ern the­aters start­ing from Fort Hen­ry and Don­ald­son then Shiloh, where he was crit­i­cized for being caught off guard and accused of drink­ing, result­ing in Gen­er­al Hal­lack reliv­ing him of com­mand until Pres­i­dent Lin­coln stepped in restored him back to com­mand. Even Gen­er­al Sher­man who served with Grant through­out the West­ern the­ater all the way to Grant’s big vic­to­ry at Chat­tanooga, talked him out of resign­ing. As Lin­coln said, “I can­not spare this man”.“He fights”. I also give Cred­it to Union Gen­er­al Wal­lace and his brigade and Pren­tis­s’s divi­sion for mak­ing their hero­ic stand on the Union cen­ter lat­er called “The Hor­net’s Nest”, giv­ing Grant time to ral­ly his army and estab­lish­ing a new defen­sive line at Pitts­burgh land­ing, aid­ed by union gun­boat sup­port from the Lex­ing­ton and Tyler, and rein­forced by Union Gen­er­al Buel­l’s army. 🇺🇲

How can Where the South­ern­ers did Com­merce. I believe they called it “North­ern Aggression.” 

USA is a Con­sti­tu­tion­al REPUBLIC! The Pres­i­dent has NO POWER! Only the Con­gress does.Per the Con­sti­tu­tion. And 100% of the States Rep­re­sen­ta­tives have to par­tic­i­pate in the “LAW mak­ing PROCESS!” And to pass a BILL 63% of that 100% of the States Rep­re­sen­ta­tives par­tic­i­pat­ing has to VOTE the Same WAY! A 2/3rds VOTE!
At NO TIME in Abra­ham Lin­colns’ pres­i­den­cy did he have all 100% of the States Rep­re­sen­ta­tives par­tic­i­pat­ing. Besides, Abra­ham Lin­coln was going by a “DEMOCRACY” for MAJORITY to RULE! Lin­coln would use a “Quo­rum” of whomev­er was present: And to pass a BILL into LAW, it took a
51% VOTE. MAJORITY VOTE.

What sense does it make for a Pres­i­dent to build an Army against his own peo­ple. Then have that “Union” Army to attack, at least
50% of his Coun­trys’ ECONOMIC SYSTEM TO DESTROY IT?

I real­ly hope that will Wal­lace and Ann Wal­lace meet in heav­en. I was hop­ing for him to survie.

I like to think that if i was mil­i­tary age at that time i would have done the smart thing and head­ed west and north a little.
