Five days before the release of Brahmastra, promotions for the film have moved into endgame mode. On Monday, the film’s producer, Karan Johar, shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the film’s sets that gave a glimpse of the big-budget production’s action and stunt sequences. The clip features leads Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt performing dangerous stunts, and Nagarjuna and Amitabh Bachchan performing fight scenes. Karan shared the 29-second clip on social media on Sunday. “A journey of many years and now in just 5 days it will all be yours,” he captioned the post. Director Ayan Mukerji shared the same post with the caption, “Where spirituality meets technology. It felt right to take a behind-the-scenes look today to celebrate so many years of growth through technology! (and hanging out with blue screens!)”
The video starts with Ranbir and Alia Bhatt getting ready for some action sequences before we see footage of Ranbir fighting with some stunt performers and running on a treadmill in front of a blue screen. A shot then shows him and Alia practicing a stunt before the two sit in a car that is suspended and spins in the air for a shot. The video also included scenes of Amitabh Bachchan showing off his sword fighting skills and Nagarjuna engaging in an action.
Discussing the Brahmastra VFX and action sequences, Ayan wrote on Instagram, “Yesterday was the first time I saw every shot in Brahmastra – finally finished, polished and ready for his audience. Very emotional moment for me because this journey was long and challenging with every single shot from the drawing board to the big screen!”
Fans appreciated the BTS look of the film’s great action sequences. “Hope your dedication and hard work of 10 years pays off,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “So excited to see an Indian film of this magnitude.” Many fans praised the actors for taking on themselves involved in the fight scenes and stunts.
Brahmastra is an epic fantasy on a generous budget of around €300 crores. The film – officially called Brahmastra Part One: Shiva – is the first of a planned trilogy. The film hits theaters on September 9th. So far, pre-sale numbers have predicted a good start for the film.
