Last time I went out of US I purchased a prepaid card. When I was finished I was able to give the card to my family to use. Now thats not an option and those minutes go to waste. 100% true real scenario.

Y’all all clown like Apple. ESIM is downgrade like a clown idel, because your old provider and carriers doesn’t allow you to transfer to eSIM unless your carrier is mc Donald, Taco Bell or Jack in the box then u can transfer happy ever after.
If you have a Hong Kong Tzono cellular provider it doesn’t have eSIM support! How u can use the phone? Lmao what a stupid knowledge ideal.

DON’T BUY A PHONE THAT ONLY HAS eSIM !!!!!!!!!! So after one year of traveling and owning an iPhone 14 Pro, I came across this video and this is my opinion. The American version of the iPhone 14, with no SIM card tray, IS TERRIBLE. I am always struggling to install eSIMs from Airolo and other sh*t apps and I absolutely hate this new “feature”. Sadly, there is no solution except to go buy an iPhone in Europe, Canada, .. or wherever, that has a physical SIM card tray. Be warned that you won’t get a phone number with eSIMs to receive text messages to verify your bank account, UBER log-in or anything. It should also be said that I don’t spend enough time in the USA to justify a cellular phone plan, so I am not like most travelers that only just leave their country for a quick vacation.
Carrier’s like to switch things around very sneaky, The less I talk to my carrier the better 😂 😂
What if I buy an iPhone with my provider (AT&T) and pay monthly payments for 36 months and I move overseas for 2–3yrs (being military). Do I have to pay off the phone or can I still make payments with my provider while using eSIMs for comms?
Maybe a person just wants to make phone calls and messages. No ads. No whatever else

Seems like you have never traveled outside the US let alone a third world country that requires you to pay millions of useless currency to pay tax on your phone that you are only going to use for a couple of days in that country.

Still a nightmare in October 2023. Upgraded an iPhone 8 t😂o an iPhone SE3. That totally messed up all 3 line phone numbers. 6 hour tech support with T‑Mobile and still not totally resolved. Its still a nightmare.
