The iPhone 14 is a modest update to the iPhone 13, and that’s being generous. The cameras are better, including a much-improved selfie camera, and there’s support for a new satellite emergency messaging feature that could save your neck if you’re lost in the woods. But the phone that Apple introduced as “Far out” feels like it’s awfully close to home.

Would you upgrade to the iPhone 14 or save $100 and get the iPhone 13?
You live in Seattle? That’s cool!
You forget one thing, 14 use 6gb of ram instead of 4gb on 13
I miss Dieter.
it’s the iphone 13.1
Apple gonna treat the regular iPhone like the 10.2″ iPad
Mur mur mur. You get me? The verge aren’t considering articulation anymore
Unacceptable pricing this time: 869€ for iPhone 13 (as much as it cost a year before) and 1049€ for iPhone 14… I was long time iPhone user and now I just bought a Galaxy Z Flip 4. Good job Apple… the only way to win me back is to release a foldable (an a better than Samsung).
Depending on how old your phone is an iPhone 12 is an even better deal
I am disappointed that the iPhone 14 didn’t get the A16 chip, but I understand the reason for it, they know TSMC can’t make enough A16 chips for both the iPhone 14 and the 14 Pro (since that’s a 4nm part), but they can keep making A15 (TSMC 5nm) without it coming at the expense of producing the A16 (TSMC 4nm).
While Samsung also produces 4nm silicon, their chips are significantly less efficient (in theory they could have used Samsung chips in the 14, and TSMC chips in the 14 Pro; though this would not work if Samsung won’t produce enough chips for the 14 (which I suspect they won’t offer that since that would cut into the production of their own Exynos chips when their production capabilities are already small compared to TSMC’s dominance). Also, Samsung’s 4nm silicon is still less efficient than TSMC’s 5nm chips, so Apple choosing to remain with the A15 for the iPhone 14 was their best choice.
Also, keep in mind that it is still an upgrade internally since the iPhone 14 has 6GB of RAM vs the iPhone 13’s 4GB; though I would have liked to see more RAM across the board.
Should have been called 14C. C for crippled.
‘oh no it looks just like the last one’ lol
So many people are gonna buy the 13 now
When will the wallpapers for these reviews be posted on the website?
the first iphone reviews without dieter
you dont need upgrade from iphone 13 to 14? i dont understand.. do most people really upgrade from iphone 13 to 14? It seems a waste of money. even if you sell the previous iphone you still lose couple of hundreds dont you? especially on america where you need insurance for medical care otherwise you paid 100k to a million if you dont. (In 2020, the average national cost for health insurance is $456)
and iPhone 13 will still be a hot item because at least it has a sim slot lol, not everyone interested in esim which means it’s useless in rural places
I upgraded to the iPhone 14 from Samsung Galaxy 20 FE. Was happy to be switch back to iPhone. & iPhone 14 phones had promotion going on.
Very good review
They should have called it the iPhone 13C
NGL, those outside evening shots were awesome
