New Delhi: American photo and video-sharing social networking platform Instagram has launched a new parental supervision tool and family center in India. According to Mashable India, Instagram’s company, Meta announced this in March this year.
Parents gain access to supervision tools and resources from the Family Center’s experts. They can track the time their children spend in front of the screen. In India, Meta has unveiled a new parental supervision tool and a new family hub on their blog, providing their parents with data on children’s screen time.
They indicated that the family center was developed after discussions with parents, young people and experts. Meta says the family center is a place for parents to “monitor their teens’ accounts within Meta Technologies.”
It provides access to various resources on “how to communicate with your teenagers about internet use,” reported Mashable India. It should be noted that consent from both parents and teens is required and only then will access to the monitoring tools be granted.
In addition, Meta has also said that anyone can remove this feature from their account and the other person will receive a notification about it. According to Mashable India, the company previously brought these tools and the Family Center to the United States of America; However, now it has decided to launch it in India as well.
