It’s been two days since this video was post­ed and he’s already tank­ing the com­pa­ny lol. Adver­tis­ers are pulling out left and right and his sil­ly sub­scrip­tion plan would only pay a minus­cule frac­tion of its oper­at­ing costs (assum­ing peo­ple actu­al­ly pay for it).

Face­book’s big sell­ing point was that it forced users to use their real names when they sign up (at least in the­o­ry). That dif­fe­ri­at­ed their prod­uct, at a time when nobody else (and still nobody else) did that.

Idk, what’s Twit­ter’s “thing” that dif­fe­ri­ents itself from Red­dit / Digg? Maybe being less “woke” (but with­out being the con­ser­v­a­tive mir­ror image like Par­lor)? At least Elon is doing something.

In order to make it a free speech twit­ter he had to charge that $8. activists try to curb what­ev­er dia­logues go against their views and then com­pel com­pa­nies to stop adver­tis­ing on that plat­form say­ing it spreads hate speech. so Elon under­stands that for free speech they can’t rely on ad rev­enue from for-prof­it com­pa­nies which will do what­ev­er if cus­tomers com­plain. So in order to have an open dia­logue every­one should come as a whole and pow­er the system.

I use to admire this guy, I thought he was real­ly inter­est­ed in sav­ing our plan­et, now I just think he is whack job, I’ll be buy­ing a Ford mus­tang mach‑e, screw Tesla.
