All users need to pay a subscription fee to use Twitter service? Here’s what Elon Musk is reportedly planning

While there is no clar­i­ty on sub­scrip­tion fees for Twit­ter Blue Tick users, news is mount­ing that new Twit­ter boss Elon Musk will charge each indi­vid­ual user a sub­scrip­tion fee to keep him con­nect­ed enable the use of the Twit­ter service.

Accord­ing to reports from var­i­ous media hous­es, Musk is con­sid­er­ing charg­ing “most or all Twit­ter users” a sub­scrip­tion fee to get access to the microblog­ging site.

Twit­ter has delayed the launch of its much-antic­i­pat­ed Blue sub­scrip­tion ser­vice with $8 ver­i­fi­ca­tion tag after the US midterm elections.

Musk ini­tial­ly want­ed employ­ees to roll out ver­i­fied Blue by Novem­ber 7, “and threat­ened to fire them if they did­n’t meet that deadline.”

The new Twit­ter Blue ser­vice offers few­er ads, search pri­or­i­ty, the abil­i­ty to post longer videos, and a blue badge.

Any­one can now get a ver­i­fied tick by pay­ing for Blue every month, which has raised seri­ous con­cerns about how to tell real Twit­ter accounts from fake ones.
