Neeraj Ghaywan, with whom he made his directorial debutmasan,With Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chadha and Shweta Tripathi recently recalled filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s email praising the film. Writer Varun Grover shared a video on his Twitter handle of Neeraj sharing what Martin Scorsese said after seeing the film. His email read: “Finally I was able to show your film, Massan, and wanted to congratulate you on a powerful debut feature. Beautifully made, subtly woven and ultimately very moving. Thank you for sharing it with me. All the best, Martin.”
In the video shared by Varun Grover, Neeraj can be heard expressing his delight at receiving an email from The Wolf of Wall Street Director. Via email to IMDb, Neeraj says in the video: “My producer Melita Toscan du Plantier had shown Massan to Martin Scorsese. That sentence still seems unreal to me. He’s been watching these two hours, connecting with Devi, Deepak and Shalu, laughing with them, falling in love with them and even getting emotional for them, it just made a very weird, surreal connection that I found with him, myself if I wasn’t there.”
He added: “And then when I read his email, that lovely note he sent, it just felt like one of those really life changing experiences, like they say, it was almost like you were wishing , this would have been cleverly written on your epitaph, but really notice it. It was just magical.”
Varun Grover shared the post and wrote in the caption, “Blessed.” Check out the post below:
