Buzz is building for Apple’s VR headset. But don’t expect this to be a typical announcement. CNET’s Bridget Carey considers how Apple may change the playbook in revealing the rumored Reality Pro headset to the world.

Very nice 👍
Looks like an 80s visitor from “V”
price only $9999/- 😂
Can’t wait 🤞🏻
I don’t care if it takes a little longer, taking their time isn’t a bad thing. You go too many companies too comfortable with rushing things and charging the full price for something half completed.
These VR sets are gonna be for the young. I tried Oculus and only last 20min before I had to take it off!!
Software related issues? Apple?? Seriously??
I’m a simple guy: if Bridget’s in the video, I watch it.
BOYCOTT APPLE! SHAME on ANYONE WHO SUPPORTS SWEAT SHOPS & CHEAP LABOR!
Virtual reality for everyday people is weird and will never catch on.
If I’m going to wear an AR device out and about, I don’t want something that looks weird and is bulky. Make it look like sunglasses / glasses, and overlay information and graphics over the lens or in front of me, a la Google Glass.
A great video. Always enjoy Bridget’s take on things.
They will announce it in Jan, as Sony have the PSVR2 coming out in Feb 23. Meta the Quest 3 in the fall of 23. Chances are, Apple will launch this in summer, early fall.
I would imagine, like Meta, they’ll tackle it from every realm they can (fitness, education, productivity, gaming, leisure) to justify the high cost. And maybe like the Apple Watch, iPad, and HomePod, it’ll start to catch on once they iterative it a couple of times
It needs retina display with a resolution of an actual retina.
Apple Reality vs Meta Quest will be the next PC vs Mac / iOS vs Android
I don’t get why people want this out now. yes it “could’ve” been in development since 2018 but better later than sooner. We should want a good product and not a bad rushed one.
Bridget is so cute.
Cant wait until we have a full-dive VR/AR terminal with high fluidity what a time to be alive.
I think AR could be everyday life, once the product gets small enough.
Just think in 70s you could buy a house for that a crappie house but still (3k dam )
If the price is where they are saying it will be, then I don’t see this selling to anyone but companies, prosumers, and the most diehard Apple fan/VR/AR fan with money to burn. How in the world would the everyday person afford it? It may end up having the best of the best for tech, but who is Apple really going to market it to? This is still a niche market.
So when they come out with their headset is that gonna finally justify Meta Focus on VR and AR
