Musk overhyped FSD way too much. He is years past his promised FSD release date. And the price for FSD is a SCAM right now. Do not buy this “feature”. The tier below FSD (tier below costs $6000) is worth it.
Great video! This was awesome to me tbh!
However, are people not concerned about the car taking over (auto pilot)? 😅 I know it sounds stupid but after that video from China, I’m kinda paranoid lol
It definitely takes getting used to but I wouldn’t trade even the auto steer on highway driving. Driving up and down California with auto steer or even from California to Arizona is so much more enjoyable with Auto steer
Hi Marques. I love your videos. The self-driving doesn’t detect very well when a lane is about to end and the way it behaves is it follows the right line and it just merges to the new Lane with little to no notice. Also when you’re stuck behind the truck. The only thing you have to do with actually turn the blinker to the left the car would actually go around it. I do this when I’m stuck in a red light and my Lane has many more cars than the other
If I was drunk I’d still rather drive myself, yikes.
This is not relaxing at all!
I’m waiting for the day when u can drive ur car from home
Tesla’s are the new MAGA Hat
Elon said that lie for 2018.
This car will never drive by itself.
I’ve used FSD and subaru’s attempt at lane-assist/adaptive cruise control. Neither are worth using IMO. It’s so much stress… i’d rather just drive.
The M in MKBHD stands for Maniac. Holy shxt!!! XD
Is this the first time you used it?
Looks great! Bravo Tesla!
Were I your age, I might trust the feature… but I’m 50 years older than you, and there is no way I’d feel comfortable!
I feel like Tesla’s self-driving beta would do horribly in European roads, considering most of the data it has collected so far is on American roads. Furthermore, European roads have it’s own set of challenges like how will it navigate on old roads.
Elon is just full of sh*t
this isnt self driving this baby sitting your car lol
Not worth it, ever.
That steering “wheel” still looks absolutely ridiculous!
Would love to see a video on Mercedes self driving, they are certified level 3 autonomy
I can’t believe that self driving is pretty much already here. It’s not perfect, but with some patches, it’ll basically become the iPhone of the car world
I mean maybe I would try it but god damn it can we please just have good public transit??? How is this better than a train
i think you’ll be okay with it after a while
Elon Musk is a clown
Its pretty good as an advanced cruise control but “Full Self Driving” is so blatantly false advertising.
Next version will probably be called “actual full self driving”, then “actual full self driving rematch”, and then “actual full self driving rematch V2 final” and still not be capable of cross country driving on its own.
I had a near panic attack watching this. You have balls! I would never trust the tech at this stage
That was stressful.
For me, sometimes I would use this and sometimes I would drive manually. It has its place but it’s not there yet to say I’d fully trust it.
My main issue with self-driving Uber/Lyft cars that we all shared is the disgusting things people do while in a car. I have mostly given up on Zipcar. Every one I use smells like cigarette smoke. They keep them clean but the stink remains.
It’s stressful just watching the video.
still awesome that a car can do that. sure its gonna take time for it to improve but i am certain it will
Why on earth do you live in NJ?
After testing FSD Beta as part of the Early Adoption Program over a few years, I recognize your lack of confidence and stress. There are a number of cues and haptics that you will increase your become confident with. At this time it will Not pull into driveways or unmapped parking lots. When you changed to the Highway, FSD reverted to lane keeping and is no longer in FSD Beta vision only. Check your settings and change lane change to auto from confirm. That is why you are getting “press signal to confirm” Those things will be combined when the version 11 changes both highway and FSD “city streets” full vision. Some of your expectations on the highway are not feature complete, that is why you highway is no different with the new release of FSD Beta. I have been testing with FSD Beta for over a year. Experience is like getting used to another person’s driving and you are the passenger. Trust will improve.
I no longer have to worry about just other drivers killing me. Now I have to worry about both other drivers AND my own car potentially killing me. Oh joy!
I wouldn’t trust any software from Elon Musk. Yeah it works most of the time but he’s pushing his engineers to work long hours, they are going to make mistakes with that kind of pressure. No thank you.
If you do another one of these with future betas, it might be nice to have side cameras or rear cameras to see extra context for it’s handling traffic
lol to much stress uckme
Your car should have a green light on the back when its driving to warn the other drivers,
As more and more cars become self driving, it becomes safer and better for everyone.
I think this beta will do much better in other states not named New Jersey or New York lol Still pretty impresive how it did though but still not worth the stress lol
Not sure what the difference is between going from standard cruise control to adaptive cruise with lane keeping and now going to semi autonomous driving. Both changes require the driver to adapt to the new system before you can chill. Same for most tech improvements
From a systems engineering and control view point, what Tesla has managed to develop is nothing short of mind blowing. Reviews always fail to point the rate of change and improvement by the FSD team is so fast, any complaints you have will most likely be resolved before you even publish your video.
I do understand why some people are a bit scared and nervous of any new tech, especially when it replaces what you have been doing for a long time. I like to remind folks that aircraft have been driving themselves, including taking off and landing, for decades but don’t hear too many complaints about self driving planes LOL
Full self driving in these conditions is obviously a long way off BUT these conditions will change. If a large percentage of cars on the road have self-driving capabilities then conditions might become more predictable and councils might start to use specific signage and traffic cones that future self driving vehicles can identify more consistently. The future conditions will change and will most likely be more condusive to self driving, it could even reach a stage where there are areas that you can only enter in self drive mode to ensure higher levels of safety. If all the cars on the road were equipped with compatible self driving capabilities then it would seem ridiculous to risk peoples lives by having some people driving themselves.… The term “self-driving” could end up referring to people driving themselves if the assumption shifts to expect that everyone has a car that drives them.
(of course these are just guesses. I’m not suggesting that I know this is the future, only that people seem to asses self driving cars in current conditions but the driving conditions of the future will probably make it much easier and more viable)
It’s not there yet but it’s still cool
So basically Tesla has reached the driving capabilities of my timid 80 year old mother.
anyone else got scared when the hand in the back moved (9:10)?
This describes my daily commute on a Model 3 so well. 100% the real experience. It’s mostly great, but about once or twice a day there will be an obviously embarrassing moment.
