Tech that died 2022

We say goodbye to the gadgets and software that met their end in 2022 — including some we thought were long dead, like Internet Explorer and BlackBerry. This year’s roundup includes tech from Google and Apple, but CNET’s Bridget Carey is having a hard time with how Amazon is killing the Glow.

What a shame as your daughter made the best review ever for the Amazon product
My favorite annual series!
R.I.P. Blackberry. 📱
We created a lot of memories together.
PreK girl again?
I really miss the iPod line up😢😢
This is my favorite end of the year video every year. I’m going to be sad to not be able to talk about how BlackBerrys are dead any more. 🪦
glad to see stadia on there…but if we’re being honest it was DOA back in 2019
Please stop trying so hard to be funny. It’s super annoying and has made the whole video difficult to watch.
Another tradition 👏🏾😔
Deeaaad😂😂😂😂😂
yeah to be fair i’m also scared of the future of amazon devices, as i read somewhere, they’re not making much money to justify the amazon alexa devices
Maria Bamford on cnet??
That is life that’s changing
Bridget, “You” are the only “tech” that I would truly be sad to see retire! Your brand is just too iconically beautiful and smart❣️
Haha didn’t know IE was dead, chrome and Firefox been the go to for many years now
Thank you for doing these! I watch it every year!
IE was WORTH THE GLITCHES CAUSE I WAS ABLE 2 MANAGE INTERNET LINKS AS FILES, THAT WAS SO SO IMPORTANT 2 ME!!! 😔😔😔 IT WILL BE RESPECTED, IT WILL BE MISSED 🙌🙌⛅️
i am really bummed about the glow it was some of the only time i got to spend with my daughter
RIP Stadia. You felt doomed from the get go.
TWITTER STILL ALIVE ROFL
Didn’t AT&T shut down 5G I swear it’s worse than 3G.
Lookin good Bridgers!!!!!!
irritating presentation
Democracy almost got canceled by the CEO but due to customer complaints it was prolonged for 4 years.
I can see the Amazon Glow tech being used for online board games or tabletop RPGs.
Great video! I was almost sure you missed Facebook portal, but I was wrong, it stays on for a ridiculously cheap price of $50. It’ll likely be in your next year’s video!
I love to see this every year!! Brings back memories
Get someone hotter and younger for this
I did not even know the Glow was a thing, and totally would have bought it for my nephew if I knew it existed
Twitter still alive 😂😂😂 good one
Lets pour a 40 for my Atari and Commodore 64…wait i can still use these things?
Thanks! For me it was automobile tech, specifically the 3G to 4G transition that “bricked” a lot of the car smarts for many people. The alternatives might be fine, but native capability is best for me when it comes to car tech.
RIP iPod 2001–2022
You can take my Blackberry Key2 from my cold dead hands.
“You will own nothing and be happy”
The Spotify Car Thing was discontinued over the summer, I thought it was a neat idea
I’m guessing Amazon glow was trying to get school contracts. And they failed.
Oh CNET, you have tapped into how to make me click on anything.
Bridget always bringing the light hearted laughs.
And RIP to the glow. Totally sucks tech you like can just be unplugged at some server farm thousands of miles away from your house.
Glow woudnt been great for online board game. Something aracde1up should of done.
I wish Microsoft kept Edge as IE 12. They can make it on Chromium, make the logo new, but IE WAS MY CHILDHOOD I CANT LET IT GO 😢
The only tech that will truly be missed is the IPod.
Keep making vids with this person.
I never heard of the Glow until now. Amazon really dropped the ball with not marketing it better. I love the advances in technology but I’m also weary of where it’s going. Companies don’t want us to own anything. We’re spending hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars on stuff that can become obsolete at any moment. That’s not cool in my opinion
My first tablet was a Blackberry!!
With 3G gone many old cars won’t be able to remote climate control and other stuff from those old apps
Maybe expand the focus. There has to be more interesting dead tech than old phones we don’t care about. Kudos to blackberry for keeping that server up as long as it did.
This is cringe
Bridget lacy
Amazon Glow!? My family would have loved it… If we even knew it existed. You’re right bad marketing.
Forget thinking Blackberry was dead. I thought all Blackberry users were dead.
