Pedithondan is an Indi­an Malayalam-lan­guage com­e­dy-drama film writ­ten and direct­ed by Salim Ahamed. The film stars Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead role, along­side a sup­port­ing cast includ­ing Salim Kumar, Aju Varghese, Kunchacko Boban, and Chemban Vinod Jose.

The film fol­lows the sto­ry of Pappan (Suraj Venjaramoodu), a mid­dle-aged man liv­ing in a vil­lage in Ker­ala. Pappan is an alco­holic and a loner, and is ridiculed by the oth­er vil­lagers for his drink­ing habits. One day, Pappan finds a lost dog and decides to adopt it and give it a name - Pedithondan.

The film fol­lows the friend­ship between Pappan and Pedithondan, and how it helps Pappan to over­come his alco­holism and old age. Pedithondan is a heartwarm­ing sto­ry of friend­ship and redemp­tion. Suraj Venjaramoodu’s per­for­mance is noth­ing short of bril­liant. He brings a cer­tain vul­ner­a­bil­i­ty to the char­ac­ter of Pappan, and his chem­istry with the dog is endear­ing. The oth­er actors in the film also put in sol­id per­for­mances, and the entire cast works togeth­er to bring the sto­ry to life.

The cin­ematog­ra­phy of the film is also note­wor­thy. The beau­ti­ful land­scapes of Ker­ala are cap­tured beau­ti­ful­ly, and the cin­ematogra­ph­er has man­aged to cap­ture the essence of the vil­lage life. The music of the film is quite good as well, and helps to ele­vate the emo­tions of the film.
