So why it took so long to recognize these ladies I m glad they finally get the recognition they deserve
Thank you for your service😀😀🥰🥰🥰
TY for your service
What an absolutely beautiful video and long overdue recognition of service to nation by these incredible sistas.
WHITE PEOPLE NEED TO STOP TRYING TO ACT LIKE WE HAD THE SAME HISTORY SO THEY CAN DOWN PLAY BLACK HISTORY
Interesting that’s as far as I should go before they reset
Thank you for your sacrificio hooaaa…US ARMY, you deserve gold and more..
THIS NEEDS TO BE SEEN AND HEARD….
Heroes
They know how they lured me in
These women didn’t do it for kudos, they did it because they felt it was right and because they knew they needed to hold down the fort while the men were off fighting (not that there weren’t plenty of women willing and able to physically fight), and despite being othered by those around them. That’s amazing and I’m so glad they’re finally getting the recognition they deserve, even if it is too late for most of them to know.
EDIT: By the way, I love Cresencia Garcia so much. She’s my grandma now and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop me.
Amazing women. 😍
Beautiful women defending a country who denied them basic human rights for being women and being of color. “I am a human being and I belong .” Words to live by and thrive.
My grandmother was in the WAC. Had thousands of hours in a pilot’s seat
Yep.… Cried through this entire thing
Wow! What a powerful story! Being a veteran but fortunately during a calmer time, I’ve only met one woman WWII veteran in person. My children and I any time over the last number of years that we seen a WWII veteran of any gender race color it doesn’t matter. I know some people it still matters. But we are more alike than we are different. We would go over shake their hands elbow bump fist bump or just talked with them. Because we are truly reaching out and touching history speaking with the greatest generation. We usually did not speak too much just listened. This soldier who happens to be a woman of color but still a soldier even today demonstrating the finer points of our society. She did it with such humility and still today was wondering what the fuss was. Isn’t it amazing how we as a people don’t realize what we’ve had until it’s gone or almost gone. The greatest generation has almost completely perished with the passing of time. She battled more than Hitler. The times that she lived through and if 50–60 70s that many ways got better starting in the 80s, was it battle in some parts that she fought along with others so that future generations would not have to. Hey I’m a white Conservative Republican and I can see a hero when she is presented. She demonstrates such patriotism. Her spirit that she has made me feel warm inside. I hope that everyone takes time to watch listen learn and absorb what this woman is saying even when she’s not speaking. I haven’t mentioned her name to honor not only her but the other women that she represented and soldiers in general of her time that she represents. Thank you for sharing this and taking a Time to do so. This woman soldier is a humble hero!
Thank You for our freedoms , God Bless .
Black Veterans Matter
It’s so good for our future generations to see that no matter your color, creed, religion, sexuality that you can make a difference and with that you won’t be persecuted for who you are!! Thank you for sharing a crucial piece of history that we still have to admire and pay homage.
There are women that are just as great or greater than the biggest Rubies. They worked their husband’s or friend’s farms and their own farms, simultaneously, so the guys wouldn’t lose their farms while defending our freedom!
We only found out a couple of years ago, after the monument was unveiled, that my grandmother was in this unit and the significance of it. Thank you for sharing!
Back then our country was more united even with the Democrats segregation than we are today.
I have several auxiliary Corp photo
