The 536 events that made it bad was a series of disasters were the eruptions of illipongo and Krakatoa as well as an asteroid hitting in 535. The 2 eruptions were both VEI 7 and the asteroid Dust cloud impact was the equivalent to a VEI 6

The volcanic ash that’s ejected into the skies shields incoming solar radiation. Jet streams can carry it away into other areas causing extreme drops in temperatures.
