Come on guys need to look at BlackVue DR900X-2CH Plus Dual-Channel Cloud Dash Cam
it’s very expensive!
More subscriptions with sub-par video. It’s a no for me.
Was excited for this until I found out it required a separate cloud subscription
Just got mine and im not happy, i cant see the license plate of almost any car even if there 1 car gap of different in front of me. Front camer feel like is a 720p and not a 1080p one. Sorry for my English its not my first language.
Dont buy!!!!
A subscription to use a dashcam? Odd considering other dashcams are cheaper and don’t require additional payment after purchase w/similar levels of camera quality. I think that’s the biggest turn off from this. But the ease of installment and using the OBD port is a big turn on. But as mentioned, the placement of the cam may not be feasible in all cars because of steep windshields, long dashboards, and stick up screens (which even common cars like the new Civic has).
It’s good to have a camera at the back of the car to record the vehicles behind also.
Bad idea…connecting to the OBD PORT !
RING ecosystem is so money hungry. EVERYTHING is a subscription, NO SD CARD slot like you find in 30$ dash cams. this is such a bad quality video for DASH CAM. RING needs to chill with the overpriced and under featured products they make. the fact that you have to pay money just to access your private videos is insane. i assume you cant even use your home wifi when you are home and get them that way for free? most likely that will require another subscription
for useful features that should be standard. there really is nothing special here
Bring Back Cooley!
I get mine delivered tomorrow but I have to say my excitement isn’t as great after seeing the downloaded video quality. Hopefully they improve that bc for $60 a year for cloud recording the service is a pretty good deal.
Thanks for the suggestion of the Garmin Live cam. The device was already released. Video quality looks slightly better but subscription much more expensive.
The Owl Cam is apparently not recommended due to its non-existent customer service.
Did you try to connect it to a USB‑C port? From CES it looked like they had a dongle w/ a USB‑C to OBD adapter. Just curious if it works powered off USB‑C
I ordered mine on Jan 9 and the confirmation email from that date shows an anticipated delivery date of Feb. 17. I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation however. I look forward to trying this out.
It gets in the way of my hard folded windshield sunscreen from fitting. IMO they should NOT have gone this route with the design. They should have stuck with current industry dashcam designs that are already available on the market. Amazon/Ring always trying to be edgy with tech design.
The USB‑C port on the camera arm is on the wrong side. It should be on the drivers/left side for a cleaner install
No rearview camera? What’s the point of getting this lol
bruh this camera sucks
so if I am understanding right you can not get any footage off the cam without a subscription. So to have this dash cam you will pay upfront to own the device then pay for the rest of the devices life monthly? ontop of an already standing ring subscription? If that is the case I dont see why anyone would pay for this when you can get any other dash cam with the same footage, quality, record if the car is off, sense movement, and pay just one time.
Also remember with a court order law enforcement or your insurance company can collect all the footage from Amazon to use against the owner.
Buyer beware, I’ve tried to cancel my Ring dash cam numerous time. They haven’t shipped it but they don’t reply to any emails I send them. Customer support minus 10 rating
Not worth it, I’ll stick to my Nextar dash cam 🤷🏾♂️
I’ll wait for the 2nd generation maybe they’ll record in 5K
This is what the have been waiting for. A connect dash can you can access with your smart phone that is more user friendly. Now all I have to wait for. Is a cam that works with HomeKit. This is a good price and monthly fee compared to the other options I may get this for in the interim.
