Meta needs to focus more on AR. It’s more relatable to people of all ages. Everyone doesn’t want to be fully immersed into another world. Give people the ability to view digital landscapes while in the real world doing everyday tasks. This is where Meta is lacking.
I am NEVER EVER EVER EVER buying anything from Facebook/Meta. They cannot be trusted.
Let’s start doing some in person shows.
The Quest 2 is Meta’s Nintendo Wii moment. Millions sold for the novelty and then retention drops. When that bubble burst Nintendo had no idea what to do to keep the magic. Meta is now about to have their Wii‑U moment. It will be neat there will be some people that will like it and 100% stand by it. But will the mass majority adopt it in numbers like the Q2? I’m skeptical.
-One of the 12 Wii‑U fans.
The Quest 2 was and is a great product. It’s just that Facebook (or at least Zuckerberg) REALLY doesn’t want to lean in to what people actually love about it. Which is a pity, because they could have spent a Tony fraction of the billions they have wasted funding more great unique games for Quest, and really built a long term market in this space.
i don’t like people not taking Cognitive ai seriously 😒😑. it is here and around, aswell as agi ( Gato by deepmind, or Vima by Nvidia) dismissing it without understanding it is ignorant and against the alignment problem 🙄😒
treating Cognitive AI like the non-cognitive narrow type is literally the cause of every ai doomsday theory.….😑🤦♂️ im an ai researcher that focuses on cognitive AI and upload research. and the only hurtles are price, its being gatekept from reporters like you. plus its rather complex. infact too complex for most people to understand fully
lmao, the display has been figured out, Niantic and Qualcomm AR2 chipset smartglasses reference design 🤣, you guys don’t have a good researcher 🤣💯
As a quest two owner, who just loved vr I think the biggest problem is the lack of good games and the still pretty heavy hardware. I think I will end up buying the quest 3 but they really need to bring out better and higher quality games. … where is my GTA ? Call of duty and so on ?
We are past the point of needing new VR hardware. We need software, and I think the market has spoken that it’s not the Metaverse that we want. Meta is going to keep throwing money away developing hardware, and there will won’t be anything truly compelling to do on it.
The best thing they could do is start building an MMORPG„ something that will keep people coming back because there’s something to do and it’s inherently social, and then start building metaverse-like features onto that. I don’t know why they haven’t figured this out.
