Wow! I had no idea about this topic, thanks for sharing😚
GPD
Why even mention the switch. We all know they’re going after those steam deck bucks
Steam deck is still the 🐐
I really want this. I’ve been holding out on buying a Steam Deck. This looks like the perfect device for me
Almost perfect I hate those kind of D‑pads.
ALIENWARE UFO…
BUT CAN IT RUN CYBERPUNK ???
Asus has no chance sorry boss
Windows 11 is a terrible experience on touch-screen and joystick driven devices, honestly. I say that as a Windows power user. I’m rooting for the PC gaming market to diversify. But Windows really needs to prioritize being touch-friendly and joystick-only friendly.
I really dislike the rgb, the d‑pad and having no touch pads is a no sale from me. Steam deck is still king. This guy is shilling hard for Asus.
steam controls are better to me
The deck has Gyro, trackpads, and longer battery life. Charges slower with the 45w charger, but u can use any other chargers so it will be the same charging speed. The ally doesn’t have the thunderbolt 4 port. The lack of support will be a problem for the ally. It hasnt the steam community and the support. The ally doesnt have a sleep and resume mode, isnt that good on Go.
CNET defo never heard of UMPCs lol
I like Steam deck design but the specs of Ally is much better.
I wish tech reviewers would stop calling anything gaming and candybar in style “switch like”. May as well call it “Game Gear like” ffs.
I’m waiting one or two more day till other videos talks about the battery performance. I saw on other video it can plan Elder Ring 50fps on low settings for 1 hour 3 mins. I was hoping it can do better.
@02:05 name of game please, anyone?
does the ally have Quick Resume like the Steam Deck?
I’m sticking with steam deck cause I want more investment/development in Linux gaming.
If I can play destiny 2 I am sold
Preordered
Id take a steam deck price drop. $329 for base model 👌
Own the SteamDeck, have this purchased as well. Now I’m just waiting for another Steam Machine like the old Alienware Alpha with updated products.
Once they play games in 120hz I’ll consder buying one. I just cant play on 60 after being so used to my 165hz monitor
Steam Deck is trash now
Thanks, I’m not selling my Steam deck just yet. Plus I got mines a month ago
I’m gonna have both. Put in my preorder for the Ally today.
I ordered the Ally. I tried the steam deck a few months ago and was not impressed by the experience at all. The fan was extremely loud (as loud as my desktop gaming rig at full throttle), and the Steam OS distro on the unit came corrupted right out of the box. Had to reflash the BIOS and reinstall the OS to get it functional. Although tinkering is fun, for users new to the PC gaming space the steam deck can be tricky. I believe that with a few updates to Windows 11 and perhaps an upgraded BIOS for the Ally, this device will hit a home run with PC gamers looking for a more premium experience over the steam deck.
I’ll add this to my collection of handhelds.
Too bad for the windows operating system, the hardware seems good otherwise
It feels like smart content is coming to an end around here, and next-generation terminals and next-generation services that use them will be awaited.
In fact, even now, there are multiple forms of entertainment that can be obtained without using a smartphone, but there are many events that do not make full use of these.
The Windows OS sold it for me.
No reviewer I’ve seen mention gyro.
The Steam Deck is still better overall
The Ally’s d‑pad looks cheap. Like a bottle cap. Failed on that one.
Rog ally vs aokzoe a1 pro which has better spec and performance?
I love the Xbox controller layout.
There is no need to get max spec Steam Deck. The baseline Steam Deck is all you need. A 512 SD card goes for 40 to 50 dollars on Amazon. I was also able to install windows 11 on my steam deck to play Game Pass games. Using windows 11 isn’t the most intuitive way to play games on a handheld. I needed Steam Deck Tools installed to get the controls to function like an Xbox controller in Game Pass games, you also can adjust refresh rate and TDP with Steam Deck tools but I find that windows runs too poorly when CPU is not at 15 watts.
The max spec Asus ROG Ally is nearly double the price of baseline steam Deck but not double the performance.
Eventually Nintendo will release successor to switch. Since it will have access to far faster ARM based chips than its original 2017 release, Switch 2 could be much faster than these x86 handhelds and have long battery life.
they said today the z1 lower version will still have the 512ssd
Did you have any problems with the face buttons? Linus tech tips said they were sticking and now I’m nervous about pre-ordering.
