so its a glorified 3d screen. It looks like Kinect cameras. It ill get axed soon
I bet, this product could beat Oculus and all those VR tech
“it’s not seeing, it’s viewing!”
The smart TVs from Escape From Planet Earth
Match this with StarLink and people will feel so connected
I dont find it much more valuable than a regular video call
can’t wait to see this on po*nhub 😂🤣🤣
it’s not for just a fancy phontbooth, but all future monitors should be made with this technology. it can track your head and project images to your left and right eyes, it means it can be used as a 3d monitor. without the need to wear any glasses. think about pc gaming…
Wait until Onlyfans get their hands on this tech…
I’m so glad that the “New Nintendo 3ds” tech lives on 🥹
🌚
Thanks, Marques! Your video was spot-on in explaining the Starline-technology. You nailed it with your clear and comprehensive delivery. I truly appreciate your efforts, well done!
So another google project that won’t go anywhere, how exciting!
Amazing tech, I would love this to get smaller so it can either become a set of cameras which can attach to a laptop or be a Google specific laptop with the tech installed.
Would make virtual meetings so much better as currently it can be difficult to get eye contact and have a better connection with the person you’re speaking with on a Teams / Zoom call.
Google, the master of failures.…
I wonder if a lens like the Canon RF5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye Lens can capture this effect much better. Of course that would depend on us viewers having a 3D display (like I do) in order to see it.
does that works only with a one to one meeting, tracking only one person to trick the 3d like Kinnect was doing years ago?
Using the 3d models of other people to make real avatars of people…and then of course artists (and ai art) avatars being used . This is gonna get real trippy real soon.
Possible to use projectors instead of a screen display? I hate looking at glowing screens and look forward to projection tek improving! My eyes prefer reflected light rather than looking into a glowing light.
As someone that played Prey (the 2017 one), this gives me HUGE Looking Glass vibes. Can’t wait to see where this tech goes in future, especially when it becomes cheap enough for consumers to buy.
Some star wars future we have comin
My 10Mbps internet could never
Google: I’m Hiding for two years with my cutting edge tech because I don not know how to show it on camera… 🙁
MKBHD: say no more 😀
Finally catching up to 2015 Nintendo! Great job Google!!!!!!
The problem, as always with Google products, is who is actually asking for this and will anyone be able to afford it 🤷🏻♂️
Marques, could you review that Asus laptop 11:45
That was cool
At my company where employees work remotely, we’re currently playing a rock paper scissor contest. We write them on 3 different pieces of paper and show it to the person on the video call on “shoot!” because latency allows some room for cheating.
So I’m wondering what this technology can realistically reproduce? Is it just humans? Can I play piano in front of a virtual class and they see my fingers’ micro movements?
10:20 that insight is absolute gold I hope google was listening here so that they don’t get carried away about what this is.
Having worked in this technical field: was this a monoscopic display (=left eye sees same image as right eye, like a normal display) with head tracking (depth perception is created when observer is moving from left to right and with the aid of head tracking, different perspectives are computer generated where the apple in front moves more than the person in the back, giving the impression of depth) or was this a autostereoscopic display (= left eye sees a slightly different perspective image as the right eye, like these postcards with lenticular screens which show a moving object on the postcard by tilting the card) with head tracking? All the hardware is at least 10 years old. The advanced Google technology is probably in the realtime object modeling and computer image generation,
Nintendo 3DS evolution.
I can’t imagine using this tech watching OF.
this is the first thing i’ve seen that has me excited and hopeful for future texh
It’s just dumb.
