I’ve also been enjoying Threads a lot.
Threads is boring.
Exactly about it being the Facebook feed. It’s just not optimised for your former classmates, colleagues, family.
It’s also crazy that FB messenger isn’t end to end encrypted but whatsapp — also by meta — is. And the backends are the same.
I might try Threads if they eventually have a web (desktop/laptop) version. I can’t imagine using social media that can only be accessed from my phone. Vine was about the only exception for me.
The main problem is that I can’t find my way to my interests. Without a search capability it is super crippled.
I feel like YouTube is a successful example of social media that people don’t talk about it when talking social media. It’s more creator driven than the others but it checks the same boxes as most other social media.
Threads silences all the noises that try to enter into my echo chamber.
Thread has the same content as Instagram lol
I must say I’m glad we haven’t got threads in Europe. Meta is a disaster for privacy and no EtoE is just not on. There are no great social media platforms which has sadly left Meta with a chance.
