Executive Produced by Academy Award®-winning actor Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary’s production company, Revelations Entertainment, in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment, the powerful documentary will tell the true story of the 761st Tank Battalion, the first Black tank unit to serve in combat during WWII, and explore in-depth the major battles they faced both overseas while in combat and back home in the United States.
A deeply personal story for Freeman, “761st Tank Battalion: The Original Black Panthers” will feature an interview with one of the last surviving members of the 761st Battalion, as well as the current and first Black Secretary of Defense, Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III, alongside new and archival interviews, period footage, still photographs and new commentary and stories from family and relatives of the Black Panther soldiers. The documentary will also feature insights and opinions of prominent historians on WWII and experts on race and inequality in America.

This looks amazing.
Fought for a country that wouldn’t allow them to drink from the same water fountain or restroom. Morally nauseating.
He is still alive. Bless him.

Wow! this is another part of our greatness that was covered up and another narrative was told until now. We as Black people from the beginning of time was and is the backbone of America. Though the narrative THEY told was that our existence started from nowhere. But the real truth is that we were the Kings and Queens from Africa which started from the Capitol of Cario Africa that THEY call Cario Egypt. WE made America Great. These Black heroes fought for a country that didn’t even want to honor that they ever existed. Thanks to Morgan Freeman and others who are demanding the truth 🎉.
Outstanding! Like most of you, I grew up learning about the 442nd Infantry Regiment, the most decorated in U.S. military history and composed almost entirely of second-generation Japanese. But I also grew up with family in all Texas-Mexican units that landed on D Day, and Marched into Paris. These stories need to be told.
Make a movie for history
Their lineal descendants live on today. I’m one of them. Finally their story gets a detailed review.
These men were the Real Black Panthers! True badasses and American Hero’s! God bless them.
Wow. This is awesome ❤💯
Excellent documentary!
I missed it because i cannot afford the history channel
Most people who don’t know history.…have no idea how important the black panthers were…
This needs a “Band of Brothers” treatment.
Just like the Tuskegee Airmen and the 442nd Infantry Regiment they had to prove over and over that they had the right stuff and could do the job well. These men were all looked down upon as inferior and that is a fact.
Same enemy, same hellish weather, all should get the same recognition equally. God Bless
I wish real History was written in this Country or any Country. But the winners write it however they want. Plus why would they do that. It would just Unite us and then we would see the real problem. Shocker it’s not most of We the People ‚but the people who once worked for us that now own us all no matter what color. George Washington , JFK , plus few other presidents have been warning us of these days for years.
For General George S Patton to come and welcome you (HIMSELF!) speaks volumes about yourselves and your capabilities (and how he personally views you). Good thing that y’all EARNED the respect and recognition you are now getting (yes it is sad that it took so long but truth ALWAYS PREVAILS). Thanks y’all for your service, sacrifice and your patience. Your road hasn’t been easy (especially the patience part) but you have won (and continue to win) ALL of your battles. Sorry you guys had to pay such huge prices. GodBlessYou
It’s a dam shame back then that Blank Men who served & died for America hasn’t been recognized for their ultimate sacrifice until now, so many years later, I say that with Honor; A Proud Desert Storm Veteran / Black Combat Veteran…not African American.
The 761st went up against some really tough German Panzer units in France and they absolutely proved themselves in battle.
Hey, Tyler Perry‼️ Put down the dress and pick up a history book. Make this movie. Please😀
