The History Channel has covered so much of history that their next special will be about what happened Tuesday of this week.
Anyone else find it interesting that Robocop is talking about the Roman Empire?
Our cities would be more advanced if we could figure out how our ancestors built their cities. Combine it with fiberglass plastic.
why didn’t attilla just sabotage the aquaducts?
Bazel took cruelty to a whole new level. Not to mention deviousness. Deliberately plunge them into economy issues an then send them they own army back alive but nearly useless..
From the narrator to Peter Weller, this definitely one of my favorite series, thanks for sharing!
Go to Istanbul today, most of the population have little or no knowledge of the Roman Empire. And this is what happens when Islam infects a population…they abandon any notion of history that predates their world view.
FINALLY!! I’ve been looking and waiting for this Episode.
Excellent ancient history 👏👏
best show ever man
It is the “eastern” ROMAN Empire. Why call it anything else. It makes no sense.
I think Peter Weller is one of those unmentioned greats of Hollywood who, until you watch or listen to him, you realize the real deal. 10 years or so ago, he did the voice for batman, an animation flick, and stolen the show. Few can dramatize historical narration & nit sound goofy. He’s one.
Thanks ever much ’
just call it the eastern roman empire
If Caesar or Hannibal were still around that time… He would station a bunch of ballistas firing giant flaming arrows? At least ignite or hit the explosive powder of that giant cannon the enemy has?
Constantinople was the most Beautiful city on earth , westerns were jealous, muslims were jealous and that´s why the destruyed it, i´m not Greek i´m from Latin America but i would love to fight and help Greeks to recover Constantinople again
to bad there walls were match for mehmad😂😂😂😂😅😅
God knows how many slaves have died to build
I still can’t refer to Constantinople as Istanbul. Everything about that city is thanks to Constantine and the history it achieved thanks to the Romans. No disrespect to the Turks. If Paris France was taken over by someoneelse and changed its name. It’s history and importance simply will still make me call it Paris France.
Constantine was a fool
THANKS to PETER WELLER and History Channel for reposting these older videos on the channel. People don’t understand the amazing effort it takes to make these documentaries
You sure do love your football field analogy
There are more commercials in this than a Monday night football game
(Government Computerized and Robots to Survive (Elon says Temp wall insulation?..))..
Imagine having to cheek gold coins in the middle of a seige
Why is Belasarius not mentioned??
When did Robocop become a historian?
Constantinople was “The Shinning City on a Hill” for many thousands of generation.
…If you go to Istanbul today and walk its’ streets, you will feel a depth of time beyond when the name was changed from Byzantium to Constantinople.
The name of that city was changed to Istanbul yesterday in the greater scheme of things. When Constantine renamed it, it was already 900 years old
Great documentary, however, they never called themselves as Byzantines, that’s a misconception that started on England to take away power from ottomans, they were romans, The Eastern Roman empire, that’s why they called themselves Romans, not “byzantines”
What an interesting historical educational touring and excellently explained by such knowledgeable people of this rather difficult time
No Nation can survive without strong border walls. Are you listening, U.S. politicians?
Istanbul or Constantinople?
The Roman empires are fascinated which really passionated me, but I recently discovered that the Constantinople belonged to Roman Empire stretched far and away in Turkey, even passionate me more.
Too many ads
I miss old History Channel Documentaries, but for the love of humanity stop calling the Roman Empire, the “Byzantine” Empire. Give them the respect they deserve.
Make Istanbul Constantinople Again. ✝️
“The Blues and the Greens are not like the Jets and the Sharks.….” .…Peter Weller your the man. Thanks for sharing your passion for history … I’m with you bro !
The Muslims robbed Constantinople and called it Istanbul. I will always call it Constantinople
It’s a shame that this city felled to Muslims.
Stop calling it the Byzantine empire. It’s the Roman Empire you shitheads.
