One bothersome problem.….do not consistently receive sound notifications via text. Always have to restart it, or shut down, wait 5 minutes then restart.
Still no Android 14 on my P7 tho :/ , maybe later in the day
As an avid iPhone user since iPhone 3 I was really interested in the Pixel (and as iPhone 14 still had Lightning…).
I´ve had a good experience, even though I had problems making phonecalls in the first month, which was pretty bad.
The battery, while a lot larger than my previous iPhone 12 Pro Max, doesn’t hold a candle to it as it really sucks.
But as a whole I’m still pleased with the experience and I´m looking forward to next year to see what happens hardware wise, in both camps 😁
Great device and hard to knock it from my experience. The caveat is I do not play games so performance is not a requisite to my usage. I use the Pixel features like dictation and recorder that make the phone added value. Also, photos are easily the best for my tremor. The price is a bonus, at £850 for P7P when new with a free Pixel Watch and 10% store credit, it was effectively only £400 and versus the S23U that costs £1400 for 12GB version I will take a slower latent performance!
That mustache is a mistake, friend.
Bro! What’s 😊 with the mustache 😂
The only thing I hate about pixel devices is that in the region they launch a single storage variant they launch with 128GB Storage, it should be 256GB storage if only a single storage variant is gonna be launched.
Meh, there are better phones on the market. Maybe next version.
The camera would be objectively way way better if they stopped over sharpening the pictures. Also personally don’t like how hdr’ish some photos come up as, but that’s subjective, unlike the sharpening. Also I can correct the lighting quite well after the fact, but unsharpening is impossible unless you shoot raw.
I enjoy my 7 Pro, but am certainly considering an “early upgrade” (for me .. I normally do 3 years between phones) to the 8 Pro if it finally brings a flat display. I came to the 7 Pro from a Note 10+ and in both cases THE thing I disliked most about both phones was the curved display. Pixel cameras are great. The Pixel software experience is fantastic. LOVE the Google call screening feature. Not a huge fan of how frequently it kills off all background processes. I can go into my recent apps after a couple of hours and find that everything save the last 1 or 2 have been killed. And you can’t pin any to never kill off like I could with the Note. There is plenty of RAM, no reason it should be so overzealous about killing background apps.
I would really like to see at least 30W wired charging in the 8 series though. The odd days where I’m using it heavily, it sucks that it takes so long to recharge. Slowest charging I’ve had since before my old OnePlus 3 … in like 2016. There’s really no excuse for 18W wired charging these days.
I am a little sad that the 8 Pro doesn’t appear to come in Hazel though. Love the colour on my 7 Pro and would absolutely buy it again. Oh well, it just won’t get a clear case if I upgrade in a few weeks!
I was an Apple iPhone guy (probably considered, and may in fact have been a “fan boy”) who tried the Google Pixel 7 Pro and loves it!!! Looking forward to better battery life, modem connections, and charging times in future Pixels, but super happy with the switch. I love the camera on this phone!!! Like it better than my iPhone 14 Pro Plus Max, even!
I agree with the review. Let’s just say my wife and I have learned a hard lesson buying Samsung products: for every pro there’s at least an equal if not greater number of cons. That includes the Pixel 6 series with it’s Exynos based Tensor chipset & the modems. Even when Samsung uses Qualcom chips like the S23 Ultra, they still have problems that they simply shouldn’t. Quality is really hit and miss with Samsung products. When my Galaxy watch dies, it’s immediately back to an upper level Garmin and I won’t miss Samsung one bit. I can’t wait for the Pixel 10 and a completely in-house designed chip to compete to some extent with Apple. And before anyone asks, my wife hates Apple and refuses to go back. We had the 6s+, and while it was a good phone, she simply doesn’t like the Apple ecosystem.
❤
my wife with pixel 7 pro after a year is the sole reason my wife’s pre ordered the iphone 15 pro max this year… it sums it all.… i also have the puxel 7 pro and i cant wait to move to the pixel 8 pro… because my phone performance is just nerves breaking…
pixel phones arent that great…vi have been using pixel phones since pixel 1.… pixel 2… pixel 3 xl, pixel 5… pixel 6 pro, and now pixel 7pro… photo hdr is nice but thats it… the overall phone experience os bad
Because of the heating on the phone I’m hoping to trade in my 7 for 8 hopefully they have a good trade in deals
Not using the pro model but I am watching this video on the Pixel 7. Cannot deny the fact that the heat sometimes make me feel uncomfortable while holding it :)))
Being a Pixel 7 Pro owner, and coming from an iPhone 13 Pro I must say that I never had heat issues with my device and the battery ends up around 50% from 7am to 11 pm.
Its been awesome. I think its solid phone. So many features make it the smartest smartphone. I thinking about waiting for the 9.
I think Google should still go for Curved display..as they feel more premium
