I only got one extra DVD mailed today.
Thank you for years of reliable service !!!
I became a Netflix customer in 2000 when I bought a computer and there was a free trial. “No late fees? Are you kidding?” In 2005 we were stationed overseas and had no idea Netflix also shipped to military APO’s until I saw a soldier walk out of the post office with the big red envelope. Thanks Netflix for helping me watch all the releases I couldn’t get overseas.
So what are we going to do now? At its peak Netflix had every movie ever made. Even at the end it still had almost everything. Today if you spent hundreds of dollars per month for all the streaming services, you still wouldn’t have 5% of what Netflix DVD offered. And lets not forget that DVD and Bluray offer substantially higher quality than Netflix streaming, which is capped at 480p unless you have the magical hardware/OS/browser combination that allows higher resolution. There’s still a lot of us out there that want access to a huge library of high quality movies and we’re willing to pay for it. Where do we go?
why this flix not available in indonesia netflix ?

The most cool part of this vid is Blink 182 🎉
With Netflix DVD you had access to the largest movie collection on the planet…even more that I could find at my State library system.
I’ve found countless movies from their recommendations that I’d never have discovered.
Being able to watch and return at my leisure was a great perk and convenience for my busy schedule.
What proponents of streaming doesn’t realize is that your world is the smallest fraction of what Netflix DVD had to offer.
Maybe you’ll get what you want when you want it, but will also have missed out on countless chances to discover that rare gem of a movie from a few months or few decades ago.
Society has lost a great piece of history, most of whom will never realize it.
Been on my DVD plan since I joined back in December of 2010. I had just moved into my first place, and this was the only way I could watch new movies. It was–and still is–my only “TV,” since cable is too stupidly expensive for someone like me who doesn’t really watch it. Even some of my current friends had no idea the DVDs were still a thing. I’m going to miss not having to buy so many movies just to find out I don’t even like them, lol. Oh well. Will miss this era, and my pretty red envelopes.
To all those who just got their last DVDs and Blu-Rays in the mail, and will likely keep them free of charge…
Cherish them. Some things can live forever in the absence of the things that are gone, but those things are gone.
Sad.
Member since 2009 / Stock holder ! and that song is Blink 182 — All the Small things !
I wasn’t there quite at the beginning, but I was there until the end. Got my final disc today. Sad to see it go because I’m not much of a streamer. Thanks for the years of being able to get almost any movie I could think of.
Every beginning has an end
R.I.P NETFLIX DVD MAILING SERVICE 1998–2023
Dumb move. So what happens to all the shows and movies u couldn’t watch on the streaming part of the site ? And had to get the DVD to see it.
So what date can I watch this?
I’ve been a loyal customer for 15 years, but I never thought it would end. My mom and I used to rent movies from Movie Gallery every Friday until my mom got into an argument with a cashier about a movie that I rented which didn’t appear on their register for some reason. Since then we subscribed to Netflix. I loved having a movie show up in the mail for me to watch as long as wanted until it was time to return it. The streaming service was first viewed as a short cut, which became more of a hobby. I still loved renting the DVDs because they exist outside of the internet. I don’t know I’ll ever look at Netflix again, but I have to thank you for all the good memories and joy that came into my mailbox. 😢🥲
I’m really going to miss the special features, extended scenes, and all the great stuff that only come on a disc. They’re going to be lost to streaming. It’s one of the reasons I always have, and always will buy physical copies.
blah blah blah. dude, enough with all the indian movies already. you should refund the last 2 months to everyone smh
I watched sooo many movies, esp after the announcement of the end of dvd service. I loved finding movies that will probably never stream. Good times. 🎉
Back when you could actually get the movies you actually wanted to watch rather than relying on an algorithm to tell you a b grade version of the movie you might like
Honestly the new Netflix is kind of crap and hope one day they can just consult it into a service that has films people actually want to see rather than cancelling shows people like
Blink 182 farewell synergy ;c
Remember this good time, no PC and BLM
Sad day. Thanks for the 13 years of entertainment and memories we had together. This service will be dearly missed, but not forgotten.
Bittersweet netflix has been good for me.… was a high volume dvd consumer. Streaming options are meh at best for me right now… few good shows coming up but I’m debating on canceling Netflix all together. Hopefully all the money you save by killing off the dvd/blueray side goes to content and not management’s pockets.
Bring it back it’s still viable service .
I’m not crying.…..we’re all crying!!😭
Now that is what I would call a good memories milestone film. No more DVDs, but will never forget that era. The show must go on.
😢😢😢😢
Blink FTW!
I remember that from when I was a little kid I was like 5
Love how you guys added Blink-182’s All Small Things.
The fact that Netflix is doing a documentary on itself is an amazing development
